Anyone had to deal with Kabbage?

Got a question, signed up for that kabbage program that ebay advertises, wanted to buy a bunch of inventory at once so borrowed $1000 from them. Got the funds on the 5th. Bought the inventory and had the first batches of auctions ending on last friday the 20th.

Soon as I started gettting payments into paypal they were being yanked right back out as automatic payments to Kabbage. I wasnt too concerned and thought maybe I had misunderstood about how the repayment went and figured they'd take the $1000 plus the interest and that would be that. As of saturday afternoon they had already taken $1218 out, basically every payment that had come in.

Tried to contact them but did not get anyone via phone but I was able to contact someone by email who said that the issue would be resolved and the overpayment would go back in the acccount within 14 days. However it hasnt stopped, they have taken every penny that comes into paypal, as of last night it was $1843.

I talked to kabbage and they said the same thing, that they'd stop taking payments immediately and refund to paypal within 14 days, they said it was a glitch. Since then they have taken 3 more payments.

Has anyone dealt with these people? Anyone know how to prevent them from taking more funds, is this something that could get blocked on paypals end? Im not sure if this Kabbage is an ebay company or not, anyone know? I'd imagine if they are a ebay company that paypal wont do anything to interfere with them taking the payments. I've never had to deal with unauthorized money coming out of paypal so I have no idea how to handle that,

Re: Anyone had to deal with Kabbage?

I've used Kabbage before with no problems, only using them for much smaller amounts though and its obliviously the UK version. There is a way to stop them taking payments. The account (paypal) is linked via a subscription service a bit like a direct debit to a bank account. You can cancel this and it should put an end to them removing money out of your PP account.

Log into PP, go to Profile> My Money> My Pre-approved Payments and cancel Kabbage from that list.

Also go to Profile > My account settings > Service providers (its a small link at the bottom of my account settings) and make sure to remove Kabbage from there.

It will completely sever the communication (API) and payments from PP to Kabbage so you might need to re-establish them at a later date but it should stop them from taking any more payments...hopefully.

To give any third party access to your PP accounts...wow, asking for issues.

I have heard some good stories, and some really really bad stories. Best avoided in my books

Hopefully the issue that's being had with Kabbage will get sorted.

They take access to your ebay account, your paypal account & infer they will make a credit check.

Very gray area of loan sharking.

You would be much better with a loan shark. Kabbage is the for those UK member the "Wonga" of eBay/PayPal. Shady freaking business. They take over you account. Your interest rate is not 1,000% like Wonga but you are now slaves to their shyster practices.

Is it not just a case of changing your password then?

Re: Anyone had to deal with Kabbage?

nope as you have logged in with PP and given Kababge express permission to access PP via an API link. Once connected, its in and done.

Nope.

It is subscription based, of sorts.

Needs more than a password change.

Kabbage=Wonga you would be better off shooting yourself in the head than dealing with these Charlatans.
