IRS Tax request
 

I don't have a USA address it anything. I have a Canadian account. I clicked transfer to bank of the balance I had on Paypal and this pop up came up asking if I'm a US citizen if not provide an address? Which I just put the same address on Paypal and now it went away. Says US tax exempt certified.just asking what is this about?

Not really an issue Hockey12 - wait patiently for funds to be received - you have sold items from Canada to USA and such...

Ok.. But its very annoying now every time i want to transfer to my bank it asks me to confirm im not from USA? I always put the same address i have on paypal then it lets me transfer to my bank..

I prefer not to. But ill tell you that Every time i want to transfer my Paypal balance to my Bank account now i get the 2 options of if im a USA citizen or not. If not provide an address which i do and put my paypal address. But its been happening every time i want to transfer money now its annoying but everything works.

And the registered address is a Canadian one, not stealth USA?

Be more annoying if you could not use the PayPal account.

Yes its a Canadian address. No USA address and every time i want to transfer funds to my bank this message shows up and i have to put my paypal address in then it allows me.

Well you have all the advice you need Hockey12 - you seem to have complicated affairs /shrug.

I asked you to put up the screenshot so that few of us who have never seen will learn and also discuss but you don't want to, so that's that.

Can't always be nice with a cyclical question - tough to give recommendations without more info...too much back and forth on this GB - sorry, but 'tis the way.

All the screen is the tax information and the 2 options if your a USA citizen or have an address or not. That's what keeps popping up every time I try to transfer money to my bank. I always have to fill it out then it transfers.

Well, I just read the whole thread, I have NEVER heard of this issue, and honestly, as long as you get your money, whats the big deal?,,,If it is bothering you that much,,Call Paypal,,,they should have the answer

When it said US Tax exempt Certified it means you are exempt from paying US taxes.

It means you are good. But the paypal system keeps asking you the same question.

I wish I can get something like that from the IRS.

I think it is just a system thing that paypal need to fix for Canadian accounts.
