Paypal cant verify phone number
 

I created a buyer ebay account only a few days ago.. on my work computer..its the only account I ever logged into from work.

I made 2 purchases on it yesterday but I didnt use paypal to make payments, I entered my card info to be processed by paypal but never logged into paypal.

Well today I tried to make another purchase but the card I was using was being declined for some reason, so I tried adding it to paypal and it added fine, I went back to make payment and tried to go through paypal this time but was asked to verify my phone number, I used a Text+ number for this account and I selected call me now...When I selected it, it didnt even seem like they tried to call it went to automatically can not verify. I then entered my work# at my desk and it then said that the addresses need to match.

how should I proceed or is there no way around this?

When he used the card, the account seemed to have been flagged for a call and purchase did not go through - one approach of looking at things.

The VOIP numbers will not work with this, I have tried a few different ones before, for the paypal verification I think it either needs to be a landline or able to match up with a name in whatever database they're comparing to.

This has been happening more and more and no one has the answer other then using a landline.

It is not the card used. Pp saw several transactions in a short period of time on a new account and flagged the account.

I havent had an issue with any of the accounts that I couldnt verify a phone number with, so I am not sure it is an issue.

It is an issue for many of our members who do not have the solution.

What phone are you using if you are not having problems with paypal verification of location.

This is pp location issue only.

It is a long standing issue.

Been going on for at least 8 months.

Users have had 'activity' on their paypal accounts and get told the phone number can not be verified.

Issue is getting worse woth each report.

Yea text plus is only good for getting an ebay verification code when creating a seller account. I received this once when I first began stealth and they called my google voice number and I received the code and was able to withdraw

But I'm not sure if it asked that the number be associated with an address at the time.

In the last 2 weeks it happened it happened to me so I called in and they just asked my name and address and than I was able to make a withdraw, this was on a 2 month old not even account.

I too had similar issues with phone verification from PP when trying to pay for purchases but I find that the checkout issue resolves the next day.
It kind of only allows me to do one checkout a day.

Had this issue yesterday with Australian paypal. Except in my situation it wasn't to purchase items. I had added a new Number to my account because old number was ⊗⊗⊗⊗. Was trying to verify my new number. Pressed the re-send code several times and no sms arrived. Waited several hours. still no sms.

seems like the issue is worldwide. my number wasn't a VOIP number.

Today i logged into my account pressed re-send the code and this time it worked.

I find it very weird that ebay's call/sms system never fails yet paypal can't get this right. lol

Have had a buyer's account since March 2012......I've been reporting from the beginning you need a landline to confirm/verify paypal account for purchases, especially with a credit card.

No one believed me back then.......

Ebay/paypal doesn't understand that less and less people are using or even have landlines these days. Only person I know with a landline is my mom.

On this one new account it's getting annoying now , they already limited me I sent documents the account is restored than today I made a tiny withdrawl of $40 and the stupid phone needed with address so I hit cancel and this time it asked two security questions and withdraw went through
