paypay ALREADY knew about them.

If a card has a series of numbers on it, its type can be determined.

what i mean is they will have better intel.

they probably will use it to determine if card can be used to verify id or not

Yea, not sure how this mess will turn out or what their intentions are. Already seen people on tech blogs asking about money lau.nde.ring questions, but not in those exact words.

Payments being processed with no identity, confirmed address, etc....wooohoo!

Paypal and ALL Payment processes and merchant checkouts use a
bank identification number (BIN)

This bank identification number is Basically the first 6 numbers of every card. This first 6 numbers pf ever card determine whether it's

1, visa or mastercard
2, which bank issued the card
3, what the card limit is and weither the card is gift card, debit, credit, platinum credit card etc.

All those information is stored in a Global database. You can even find a WIKI page with the list however that is not complete. Link to it List of Issuer Identification Numbers - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The wiki page even lists which Card numbers are Gift cards.

However most payment processes use a private service for the Lookup which has a more complete and accurate database.

Paypal does not need this to "GATHER INFORMATION" The information is already there in a database for paypal to use

This technology has been around for a while , the new addition of "pay with gift card " is now u can use any gift card to pay for an item, not just the ones that have a zip attached to link to Paypal ,

So they are saying any card can now be used for purchases , meaning gift cards and does not need to be linked to ur Paypal

They need stealth users , I'm sure they already estimated how much of a loss they would take to wipe us out and it would not be good for their share holders

A billion dollar company can do anything , we are In no way beating them but all we are doing is following hidden rules set by ebay that allows for stealth

In the end we can only do what ebay wants us to do, and they want stealth accounts if they didn't than we wouldn't be here, it's all about the bottom line

Now they don't want anyone back selling so they set the levels that we all have to adhere by to operate,

Most users will give up at that first MC999, the ones like us that make it to selling pass their test and are able to sell

We have no power only what ebay gives us

That's not really the issue - the main issue is with overuse and blocking and such....just one big annoyance - possible tool that will go down :mad2:

I just feel it's the cost of doing business. I don't believe there are any hidden rules.
