Paypal and Moneygram issues

I was attempting to use Moneygram to withdraw some quick cash from my paypal account .

When I get to the confirmation screen it says "transaction cannot be completed due to paypal issue. Please call paypal"

I did. Four times in an hour . Every time I do, they say issue should be fixed but it still will not go thru.

Anyone have any idea on what the issue is?

They make it so hard to actually GET your money from them? .

paypal monitor those transactions to prevent fraud/scamming.

Then say that is how you feel then or don't offer the service if they are going to be hyper paranoid. Damn, it's not like you can withdraw thousands! The daily limit is $200/day, $500/month. You have to show I'd to pick up the money, which is more of a confirmation of my identity than most other withdraw options. Don't bs me and tell me it should be fine now the first few times I call, then tell me the "system is down", then some crap about the holiday. Even doing instant transfers with paypal prepaid debit is a pain and has been denied numerous times, only to go thru an hour later. They truly suck. If it's my money than give it to me when I want, how I want.

Did you check the forum before using MoneyGram?

Lol, yes I did, but needed cash and didn't have time to wait for bank transfer. Tell u what though, I am so sick of constantly having to contact them for one reason or another, and no one there acts like they know wtf is going on.

Re: Paypal and Moneygram issues

For anyone that is interested, I finally figured out what the issue was. Hopefully it can help someone else. Doing research last night to see if anyone else had the same issue after multiple calls to pp with no resolution, I found a forum on th epp community we page that stated that many others we're getting the same error message I was-" transaction cannot be completed due to pp issue. Please call pp". Also, people were getting the same kind of error message from Coinstar when trying to take out cash (before they stopped letting u take cash out.) someone said that when u call paypal to fix the issue, they tell u that your account looks fine, and u shouldn't have an issue (but issue is not fixed in reality). You should then ask to speak to a supervisor, who is the only one that can access a different part of your account that shows a security level on your account that is preventing you from using Moneygram (and previously Coinstar), and that with a few clicks they remove the security block and everything is fine. So today after not yet receiving a response to the email I sent yesterday, I called and heard the same crap, "your account is fine, it should work, blah, blah. I told her what I read about the security block, supervisor, etc, and she put me on hold, came back a few minutes later, and BAM, the Moneygram finally goes thru.
About an hour later I finally get the reply from my email sent yesterday that said

"I understand that you want to access the money on your account through Moneygram so you can have access to it right away. The reason why it was not going through at first is because of our Internal Security System. It reviews payments before being approved to make sure that all transactions we process are valid and authorized.

To make it easier for you, I made the necessary adjustments on your account without affecting your account security level and I definitely assure you that the payment should go through without a problem. You may now resend the transfer without a problem anytime.

We value your business and want to provide you with the best customer care. We appreciate your business. Happy New Year!"

I don't know y they just don't tell u to call them before you attempt to withdraw thru Moneygram if it's going to be an issue.

Hopefully this will save someone else the hassle I went thru.

@Aamanada, the withdrawal with Moneygram is relatively new so (knowing what we know about PP and new service association), glitches and delays can be expected especially with regards to getting money OUT

I figured that. What's funny is that after that email, I tried again this morning and got the same error message again. Funneling my money out slowly but surely. Have learned so much from all of you about the crap pp puts everyone thru. Sick of having to call them about every little thing.

Both the moneygram and coinstar kiosk options are ridiculous (coinstar is not even that new, it went from pilot to full blown a year ago). You essentially need to be on the phone with them while doing the withdrawl or it will have "technical issues" at the very least the first time, for me with coinstar multiple times.

Yes, that is literally what has to be done. Ridiculous. I know they stopped letting u take money out of your Paypal with Coinstar-supposedly while they tweak it to "better serve their customers". Yeah, right.

You can only withdraw to yourself, you can't send a Moneygram to someone else with Paypal funds. Yes, the whose name is on the pp account has to pick up the funds (usually at a CVS, Acme, etc). You are supposed to show ID (drivers license, passport, etc). Some places are more stringent than others. I know around here, there was a Moneygram at a laundromat in the projects, and they could have cared less about ID. LOL The limit is $200/day, $500/month.
