Paying for eB purchase via PP
 

I've searched and searched for an answer to this question but didn't find anything that answered my question directly (or indirectly!).

I have a non-vanilla MC on file with PP. I purchased an item today on eB and when I attempted to use the non-vanilla card to pay for my purchase I received a PP error message that the transaction could not be completed. I called the cc company (mygiftcardsite.com) and was told that I cannot use this card with PP. Will I be able to pay for my eB purchase using a vanilla card? :confused: Thanks!

you can use vanilla visa cards to pay for your ebay purchases. you just have to register the zipcode. if you need help i can assist you, just message me via pm.

Yes. what he said. Log on to the vanilla visa site and put a zip code that matches your ebay/shipping address and it will be ready to go.

Thanks for the replies. Tomorrow I'm going to take my non-vanilla cc and purchase a vanilla cc. I've learned that the the non-vanilla cards work to verify new PP accounts but not to make eB purchases using PP for payment.

FYI ~ I went to Walmart today to purchase a Vanilla cc to pay for eB purchases and there was not one Vanilla card to be found in my local Walmart Super Center (DFW area).

Another FYI ~ I did not have any difficulties paying for my eB purchases with the Vanilla card I picked up today at CVS. The non-Vanilla cards do not work for paying for eB purchases via PP but they do work in verifying new PP accounts.

I get mine at either walgreens or CVS for future reference, there's one of each in my neighborhood.

Walmart has indicated recently that they are not providing Vanilla Visa for sales much longer (might have already stopped in many stores)
