Adding Tracking Numbers to Avoid Limitations

Does it help at all or not? Any suggestions?

Quasi_Mojo 09-10-2008 12:46 AM

Yes. Not only to avoid limitations, but to prove that items were delivered.

Google: site:aspkin.com +"tracking number" +limitation

terryp 09-10-2008 05:46 AM

tracking

depends on the delivey co and if the items is domestic or International

International registered mail numbers mean ZERO to Paypal as they are not fully trackable...I know I've lost so many claims even after faxing all the post office receipts with even the buyers full name & address shown...crap service

Amendment to the PayPal User Agreement
Effective Date: March 14, 2008

Beginning March 14, 2008, the Closing Accounts and Limiting Account Access section of the PayPal User Agreement is being amended to include a new section 2 as follows:

2. eBay Item Hold.

eBay item hold. PayPal, in its sole discretion, may place a hold on a payment you receive for an eBay transaction when PayPal believes there may be a high level of risk associated with the transaction. If PayPal places a hold on your payment, it will show as "pending" in your PayPal Account.

Release of eBay item hold. PayPal will release the eBay item hold after 21 days unless you receive a Dispute, Claim, Chargeback, or Reversal on the transaction subject to the hold. PayPal may release the hold earlier if either of the following applies:

(a) The buyer leaves positive feedback on eBay, or

(b) PayPal can confirm delivery. PayPal will confirm delivery if you use USPS or FedEx to ship the item and (i) use PayPal shipping labels, or (ii) upload tracking information to PayPal via the transaction details page. This applies to US domestic transactions only.

Additional hold period. If you receive a Dispute, Claim, Chargeback, or Reversal on the transaction subject to the eBay item hold, PayPal may hold the payment in your Account until the matter is resolved pursuant to this Agreement.
You can find this by logging into you PP account and clicking on the "Policy Updates: August 20, 2008" link on the left.

Also check out the Shipping section of the Expanded seller protection FAQs.

I've always found that when they start asking for those 21 day holds that you are near your end. You usually are history within a week if you are lucky. At least that has been my experience.

I'm still curious if anyone thinks adding tracking numbers helps at all from Paypal's point of view.

Hello:
I have always done this.
I have had Less limitations, and less down time, when i face a limitation.
Also-it gives your customers confidence in you

alphaversa 09-10-2008 01:58 PM

ebayhateluv - Have you noticed Paypal giving out more limitations recently? I used to be able to go a long time before I'd get one. Now, it seems like they are coming every day!

ampm 09-10-2008 05:12 PM

yeah

Yes. i down 5 paypal accts arleady last week. none of them got over 1000$ payment.
All my ebay accounts are working good. 30 of them. wondering if any one here can help. I might help you with ebay accounts.

AMPM - Did the limitations come right after you logged into Paypal (or like within minutes of logging out)? Are you using the same IP for each individual account (separate of course) or are you changing it every time? I use one of those Sprint cards that always give me a new IP every time I reboot. I'm wondering if I'm having trouble because they are limited accounts that use different IPs every time they are accessed?

GreenBean 09-10-2008 07:12 PM

paypal can limit an account if the IP is different. They 'jump' on the account much quicker than ebay. Their trouble is they want safety to protect 'their' money. Likely the IP change triggers alarms with their bots.

I put tracking numbers on all items. I try to prevent any potential troubles.

ampm 09-10-2008 10:06 PM

I used one IP for one account at begining. and my paypal accounts got limited eventually
then I used different IP for different accounts. my paypal accounts still got limited.

ampm 09-10-2008 10:12 PM

most limitations came after some transactions. I'm not selling big name senstive items, but some clothes. I'm wondering now if paypal starting limits accounts for all transaction value above $500.00 now.

divine422 09-14-2008 05:13 PM

i would have to agree with ebayhateluv, facing a limitation is always better than just bailing (unless youre doing something your not suppose too). Once you pass certain levels of scrutiny your account isnt invincible but you can get away with withdrawing more funds at once.

Here We Go Again 09-14-2008 05:27 PM

I ALWAYS enter the USPS Delivery Confirmation number into Paypal and even into every eBay item sold.
Whether it helps or not but it makes the buyers happier when they have the brain capacity to actually read the information provided for them.
Most do not know how to read from my experience.
