How far.......

My question is this to anyone who has tried:

Now that Paypal is asking for a SSN or tax id for 200 sales; how far has anyone got with their Ebay stealth account before Paypal cut off receiving or withdrawing funds. If one of those two are not given?

You spread sales over various accounts as a good move to avoid the request too...have to play the game right - things differ from person to person - no general rule in terms of "how far" someone has got

Different reports show some got the request as low as 150 items sold and 5k in sales They go by projection of sales many times.

Some posted they were able to go a month or two past the time of request but others have posted they got limited before they was able to get the money out in time.

Re: How far.......

I use LLCs and lift the limits right away. Eliminates 99% of all paypal problems. For every LLC I own, I also get a whole slew of additional tax benefits as well.

For me personaly I would need several hundred ebay/paypal accounts and quite frankly that does not sound fun at all. 10 accounts or less per category is a whole lot easier and with LLC EVERYTHING is legit 100% of the time and makes calling ebay and paypal handling disputes, etc... so much easier.

How long is a piece of string?

paypal applies different rules.

Although paypal says it asks for TAX ID for 200 sales /$20,000, the acutal asking can differ for every account. $5000 was one amount, deletermined by the projected sales on the aco****.

Options include, and are not limited to, spreading sales over accounts, establishing accounts that can supply tax id.

The bottom line is what you want from selling on ebay and how you will work with the tax requirements.

197 Transaction I got limited from Receiving Funds and Closing the account last year on a stealth. I was still able to withdrawal the money.

This year I am stopping at 190 or so for payments received on all stealth accounts.

I received a PayPal request for a SSN# at about the same point vogeltron mentioned above. They never stopped me from retrieving money from my PayPal account. I plan on stopping at about that same point also that he mentioned above. I had also decided to make a small army of accounts so I can always have an outlet to sell through. Nothing worse than trying to sell your ass off then find out the only stealth account you have is a 10/$1000. You can never plan too early. Most ppl on here have concluded that it takes at least 90 days on average to even have hopes of a limit increase while maxing out every month until then.

I run 100s of accounts and received only 1 of these and I sold record amounts last year.

Spreading sales over accounts is the way go.

I of course I get one for my real account which is fine.

Are you selling mostly one off items? Meaning you usualy only have a few of one item and make new listings weekly/daily?

I sell several thousand of each items I sell. I would hit those numbers on daily sales. I can not imagine running hundreds of accounts at one time. Many days I have 500 or more auctions ending.

Your system sounds like it would not work for my daily consumable items but would be fine for my "one-off" items.

Unfortunately, these restrictions have changed how many of us do business. If you sell lots of small priced item I understand how this could destroy your business model. 2013 was the first year PP had a hard limit on the 200/20k. Years before you could sell 1,000 items as long as you didn't get close to 20k you where good.

I can only give my suggestion but if you move that many products. I would consider going the EIN/LLC route. Finding a way to get back on with a brand new legitimate business account. Of course using the stealth procedures to insure you are not linked to any previous accounts.

Seems like your LLC-submission right off the bat works for you.

Also perhaps worth considering eB merchant account with access to other payment processors...

Yankee already does this.

He has posted advice on the topic in other threads.
