PayPal asking for Social Security Number With New Business Accounts
 

I just made a new business account on 2/26/2014 and PayPal asked me for a Social Security number to match the info and name I put on the account. Which I can't cause I use stealth info. When they started this?

What was the specific request?

Do you have a screen shot? I ask because another user spoke in the similar terms. But acutally there were options.

Did u choose an option by mistake like did u hit add money next to account overview, I did the same by mistake and it will ask for this, just go back

Hey the browser I used was not Netscape lol and no I just created the account and it asked for my Social and Date of Birth

Here is the screen shot that came up when I created the account and it comes up everytime I log in.

All you have to do is click the PayPal button and go back to the home page. This should do it. Also, before you make a PayPal account, switch it to Classic PayPal rather than the new one because the new one will ask for what you provided a picture of or the last four of ssn.

No I am not using that account. Also question do you guys think that PayPal will require SSN and Date Of Birth in the future?

they need 3 thing to comfirm my account to lift the limit...

Paypal can ask for your SSN and DOB at any time they want.

They require 2 out 3 to confirm your Paypal....Obviously you aren't going to go with the SSN......so which 2 do you think you will go with? think hard.

Having same problem i need to get rid of it,
What if i downgrade my account by contacting Paypal support, will they still ask me to provide last 4 ssn ?

Welcome to the forums - in most cases...you cannot get out of the SSN request by simply downgrading...

Explain what type of account you made.

Tell us info like its age, volume of sales etc.
