In Store PayPal purchase limit
 

So I went to Dollar General last night and tried to use my PayPal account to checkout at the register. This is a stealth account fully confirmed and verified. The charge for $99.22 was declined. So I went home and logged in the account to check over phone number and everything to make sure everything was exactly right and there was nothing I missed. So I went back to the same store. I thought it could have been amount causing it but wasn't sure so I did a test transaction for $2, it was approved. Tried to checkout stuff for original amount again it was declined. So I had them divide the transaction to below $50 and it was approved. I paid for the other half of the stuff it was again approved. So PayPal for sure has a $50 limit on the in store checkout at Dollar General stores.

Lolitax your right unfortunately no DG's in my area but a friend of mine went and tried it and was able to use his pp acct at a DG for 55 bucks then went back and tried for 100 bucks and kept getting declined. So what you say sounds about right.

Did you try to buy any gift cards? With both dg and hd systems they are known to decline the purchase if you are trying to purchase gift cards with pp.

No, I know you can't buy a gift card with anything but cash. It was stuff. Everyday stuff: tide, bounty, paper towels etc

Ok do you have the card activated or just using the mobile number and pin?

gfc work but only with the 5o one so not too efficient

I was not using the card. I've never had a decline when I had the card. It was the mobile checkout.

I know the mobile checkout in store has a card (not paypal mastercard) or mobile number and pin. When I used the card never had a decline either.

They send one out when you sign up for it. You would just need a stealth account with access to the address.

Difficult to do on a stealth account...requires SSN and such

No ssn is needed. Only access to the address. This is the paypal instore card not the debit card.

What card exactly are you talking about, is there something other than the paypal debit and paypal prepaid debit canard???

paypal payment card. It uses the discover network.
