PayPal debit card being mailed to you?
 

On two of my stealth accounts. PayPal has decided to mail me their Business Debit Card. I have no idea why. I never requested it. I have a thing pop up every time I log in to activate my card. Was curious if anyone else has run into this?

Not yet, but I would be pissed. Companies should not just decide to mail you a debit card. There seems to be a lot of security issues with doing that. Forgot to change address, on vacation, deceased.

Not a problem since he has to activate via his PayPal account.

Business with EIN on the account I assume?

You will still need to give your SS# , this is with all business accounts , so debit card won't work with stealth

I had one mailed to me on a stealth account. No EIN. I don't plan on activating it. Just really strange PayPal is doing this.

NOT DELIVERABLE AS ADDRESSED

Please contact your local USPS to discuss the reason for return.

The debit card may be mailed to a confirmed credit card address. To edit your credit card address:

Go to the PayPal website and log in to your account.
Click "Profile" at the top of the page.
Click the "Credit Cards" link in the "Financial Information" column.
Select the button next to the credit card you would like to update and click "Edit."
Enter your 3-digit verification number (4-digit number for American Express).
If the new billing address is an existing address listed on your PayPal Account, you can choose this address from the drop-down list under "Use existing address as billing address."
If you are adding a new billing address for this card, enter it in the "Enter New Billing Address" section.
Click "Save."

Once we confirm the credit card address and make any necessary changes, you can request a new debit card by following these steps:

Go to the PayPal website and log in to your account.
Click "Products & Services" at the top of the page.
Click "View All PayPal Products."
Click "PayPal Debit MasterCard®."
Click "Apply Now" and follow the directions provided.

Please allow 7-10 business days for this card to arrive after you have completed these steps.

Yea but once it's mailed to you in order to use it you will need to add your SS# when activated

It must work that way. There is no way you can have an anonymous debit card. They just want people in the program or testing addresses.

With the new rating system, new mc999, and things like this with sending debit cards out, looks like eBay and Paypal are aggressively cracking down on stealth accounts for 2014

Got one in the mail today on my account with a Tax ID. Says essentially shred it if you don't want to register it. So they are sending it randomly to people. Not to anyone has clicked on anything to opt into it. Kinda messed up.

To get ANY type of card from PP you need a real, verifiable, 100% legit SSN or EIN attached to the exact name or VERY similar to whats on the account. How PP is sending you a debit without your consent seems unrealistic. Unless they already had either info on file.

Companies send cards all the time, you never received a credit card in the mail ?? I have that was never applied for, I just never activate it, my point is that the card is no good unless you have access to your paypal account and than you will need to give your SS# to activate

Yeah I have. Only they're pretend cards that are either one sided and cheaply embossed. Or really close to real cards that have different names on them like "Preferred Customer". You shouldnt receive a real physical credit or debit card unless you applied for one...

Its like the spam cards some people get in the mail. I posted the email sent me for one of my "stealth" accounts. They are sending them out.

Just has the registration name. No business name on the card. It does say it is a PayPal Business Debit card though. There is a note below where the card is attached:

"If you chose not to activate your card, please destroy it and dispose of it. This card is not active and has no value."

So I logged into the account where the Biz Debit Card got returned. PayPal that is. Was told I was "randomly" selected for security measures. Had to confirm either my Bank Acct or my CC on file with them. They also made make new Two New Security Questions. Which is actually helpful because I made this account in 2008 and lost those pcs of information. Ohh and I also had to make a new password.

But looks like PayPal is doing a weeding out process.

That message is common. Has happened to me a handful of times when I do something they don't like.

All "random"...haha.

And an automatic sending of debit card...sounds sketch on PP's part
