same last name, two different accounts, will one limited cause the other to go down ?
 

So I have two paypal accounts lets say Mary X (sister) and Sarah X (me), the last name is pretty unique. Both are completely NOT LINKED (diff user, diff IP, all info diff). My Mary X (sister's) account got limited, but my account Sarah X is still okay. I have always kept them separate. My own paypal, Sarah X is fully verified (was limited but restored after giving them ID) with ID (not SSN). Can Paypal know that we are sisters and limit me just based on a last name search? Or am I okay? So far my own account is totally fine even though my sisters is limited.

No they wont limit you based on a surname.
You are not the only person out there with the same surname as another person.

If all other info is different especially address and IP than you should be good

Going to depend long term on how your own account is handled.

If paypal ever delve into your account, they may consider a link exists.
Then you will have issues.

paypal limits family accounts very often, even where one party has done nothing out of order.

I had a paypal account for years and it was closed (because I apparently received fraudulent money) It was my name, I then afterwards opened a new paypal account same IP same address just under my dad's name and his real info. This was in Dec of 2012 and its still working to this day. Just because you were banned doesnt mean no one else in the same household cant have one.

That is something that is wide open to misery.

If paypal ever decided that the same name in an account is linked, the rest will be sad history.

Be very careful here.

I had one account banned using my (very unique) last name but then used the wife's info for a second PP account but made sure to use a new IP. Been running smoothly ever since. Same surname no problem, same IP's, thats gonnna be a problem.
