how can i upgrade to business accounts?
 

Hello,

Im from switzerland and im in contact to a seller from this forum who is able to sell me an UK pp and paypal account with all documents.

Well, but there is one huge problem.
I want to start to sell 2k-3k small items from 5-50€/each on ebay. i have to upgrade the ebay and pp account to business accounts. It wont be a problem on ebay, its just one click. But im sure paypal will ask me for business documents in future.

What do i have to do? The seller can only provide me with a driver licence and a proof of address.

He said i should register a company in switzerland, but thats not easy here.
Do you think an offshore company somewhere on an island is the correct solution?

You can register offshore but can be fairly tricky if you are not familiar with the system. There was a couple of posts on a previous thread recently on this, think outside the box as to having a director named for you in that country......

You wouldn't be able to sell 2-3k small items from the start due to selling limits. Most I have ever got from day one was 100 items / £11k but it's not everyday that happens...

You don't need to set up a Ltd company to do that kind of volume on Ebay either.

It's not compulsory to do so, lots of people do it for the added 'security', especially when looking to get bank loans...although in the UK a directors guarantee is needed in most cases due to the economic meltdown we have had.

You're selling goods via digital delivery.

I doubt the account will ever get to the position where it has limits like that.

The issue with digital delivery is that PP doesnt like it.

Based on the discussion going, going offshore is up to you - personally, just make more backup stealth accounts and spread sales

YOu really need a tax lawyer to answer that question. Seek one out that specializes in international business or tax laws. Each country as their own business rules and tax rules.

I agree with rsot on this. :eek:

An offshore company would be a waste of time and money. You are selling a product that is going to result in you losing ebay and paypal accounts on a regular basis. If you want to minimise future disruption to your business you need to realistically run about a dozen or so accounts and replace when one goes down.

I'm guessing you don't have access to that many UK bank accounts. Assuming you don't then you need forget about using UK ebay and Paypal for this and use these platforms in your own country.
