I just checked and it has the option to release payments instantly, but you must confirm your phone number matches the address or enter last 4 social. Nice feature, but still sucks. I tried the numbers and none work. Can't match address. Stupid features.

Easy way to lose an account.

No such thing as 21 days holds much.

Most funds are released in 2-3 days of delivery anymore.

Have you seen this option , I'm just curious obviously I can't use it because I can't put my SS# just wanted to see if they really added this or if the OP was mistaken

Greenbean - I like your smart comments, i'm not going to buy 500 landline numbers, that's very expensive and I don't make that much money, but something is something.

Rsot - It sucks because I can't add a ssn to 10 of my accounts unless you provide them to me from your hard drive - haha and I have tried so many phones that none work with paypal unless the landline matches the actual address in there paypal database so goodluck with that, tons of people have problems with this.


I was not mistaken, I logged into my old 6 month paypal account and I got a payment for $500 from outside of ebay and money was put on hold giving me the 21 day hold and it had an option for if I want the money faster to confirm my identity with the ssn, or phone number on the account. I'm not sure if this is for old accounts only or new accounts, but I saw the options on 2 of my accounts. That is all I know.

It probably doesn't work with ebay sales or other things. Don't ask me. This is everything I know, goodluck.

I would agree " an easy way to lose an account". There are a lot of feature that you can use on a legit account. I lost an account 3 weeks ago, cause I was in a hurry and clicked on the credit card banner on ebay.

It removes the 21 day hold only for future 21 day holds not any currently pending payments

Yep, making an account the right way sorts these issues.

And if you think I am smart, then so are ALL the OTHER users who never have the issues you post about

Does not matter about the numbers of accounts, what matters is their creation.

It must fit the paypal formula.

Of course, issues may happen. A paypal account needs to be able to handle that.

its there on non ebay transactions on accounts that have the 21 day hold on even non ebay payments. rare accts have 21 day holds on all payments not just ebay and this option is there. i did one today got a text from pp and all future holds are removed. only worked with sprint cell with billing information matching stealth would not work with trac or textplus

Wow, this seems to be for all payments it says nothing about eBay or non eBay sales as someone mentioned

And this confirm id , is it just the one option of matching your phone number with public records?? Or any other options?

This ONLY applies to NON EBAY transactions. If you receive a payment from ebay it will still have the hold in place. I know this because I recently confirmed my identity for a couple accounts prior to them receiving ebay payments. One account had the hols placed for a $50 payment via ebay and the other received an outside payment and did not have a hold.

Also, one account was confirmed with the phone call and the other was a public records Q and A. It can go either way. Since The info was phony...I would just keep letting the questions timeout until after a few times it gave me the option to receive a call which is what I wanted anyway.

I tried going through the phone process and it didn't work so it too me to confirm my social security and id. Holds on outside ebay payments do exist for new accounts so don't get so excited people.

did you use an actual landline number to get it to confirm the identity or a voip registered as a landline? I tried a viop that is public database registered as a landline but it still wouldnt verify the number

Off ebay transactions have had the risk of holds happening for ages.

Your variation, and the long time in coming screen shot is just a little bit different.


Still goes back to what I said in my 1st response, that you rubbished. Make the account correctly.

apparently all voip landlines don't work, only old landlines and not much of them left where I'm at. Sorry to burst your bubble mr greenbean, but off ebay transactions have had less holds for me then ebay. Still goes back to my critical thinking that there is no way to make an account correctly (anything can happen). Goodluck with your beautiful words.

There is something your doing in making the accounts that have paypal questioning your true identity

Or could be the way you are,operating

I never once had a paypal account put holds on transactions outside of eBay, and this is over many paypal accounts in the last couple years

Is your first payment a large amount like over $200 ?? Maybe that could be prompting holds also.

I sell on eBay to and my sales on there the first 3 months are all low risk small payments from $2 to $8 for the first 2 months and than the same the 3rd month but I'll also add in a few $50 items as well

I also never used my paypal account to receive a payment outside eBay until the second month

So this may be the reason also, for one month paypal has seen a small,history of low risk item transactions with no problems, and positive feedback from customers on eBay

Maybe if u start off receiving your first payment from a non EBay transaction they put the holds on, try waiting until u have a month of low risk low priced transactions that were shipped quick with no defects
