Paypal deletes accounts?

I had an old account that I tried to log into but was unable to. I thought I put in the wrong password but when I tried the "forgot password" with that email, it said there was no account. Anyone else have this happen?

The account was about a year old and wasn't used for maybe 4 months. There was nothing in it but I am just wondering why it is now gone.

I have not had that happen to me before but is it possible your account has been hacked? They could have changed all your details including email address. I would check the email address for the account to see if either PayPal notified you abut changes of any kind were made since you last logged in.
