PayPal releasing my payment holds early WITHOUT me asking them to.
 

Hello everyone,

I wanted to share with you something interesting but good that has been happening to me this past week in regards to payments that I have received from eBay sales.

I'm still a relatively new seller on eBay under the particular account that I am now selling under and am still subjected to payment holds. However the interesting this is that say for example the item is delivered to the buyer and then the three day waiting period after delivery starts before funds are made available for use or at least that is how it is supposed to work. Recently I have had my funds released as early as 2 days after delivery and it seems to happen to several transactions all at once in a 10 minute time span. Last night I had five payments that were not supposed to be moved to my available balance until 8/3/14 however they were made available to me at around 6 PM Eastern on 8/2.

I am starting to suspect that perhaps a PayPal employee is auditing my account and manually releasing the holds. Has anyone else experienced something like this?

Yes this seems to be the norm latetly, I ship all priority either same day or next day after payment

So the items are usually marked delivered 2 or the latest 3 days after delivery and than say funds availability time is Aug 5. Funds will become available on the 4 th

By any chance did u also ship priority mail with ur orders??

The reason I ask is because rarely I'll ship some 2-$5 items first class,and i noticed that they sometimes hold funds 5 - 7 days after delivery

If more than few ppl are experiencing this, it is likely a bot removal of the hold - 1 day before could be a nice little 'glitch'

Yes I do primarily use USPS Priority mail unless the item is oversized. But regardless of what is causing it, I am not going to complain.

If most things are in order, this happens.

I think buyers have the option to release money? Or it is my fantasy only?
Sometimes paypal released payments earlier to me also.

I havent seen any option for buyers to release money - all they can do is leave positive feedback...and not create claims :FF:

It's basically as advertised 3 days after item is marked delivered the funds are released.

And there is no exact times , the releases sometimes come right after midnight on the beginning of the 3 rd day, or middle, end of the 3rd and it also releases 6 or 7 hours before the 3rd day which would br 5 or 6 pm two days after delivery
