PayPal account Name change. Plz help
 

My PP account is real and aged ( Since 2011 ) I need to provide SSN since hitting 20k.

My last name is correct. However, my first name is only missing one letter. Will IRS reject the name since just one letter of first name is missing?

If I change it via PP, since its only adding a letter to first name, will it raise any flag or limitation?

Well no.. you are allowed to change minor details in your first name on paypal.
Since a lot of people make typo's..

I wouldnt worry if it was your real stealth account, unless you have another one in the same name and address that has been banned.

Instead of your SSN, whay are you not considering an EIN?

that is doable and safer than letting paypal 'burn' your SSN details.

If you're just missing one letter in your name, then use the Paypal's name change feature for it. They will not be asking documents for a minor typo.

Yes , whatever you decide, fix the name first because, from our understanding of how paypal verifies the match , than it would fail, like mentioned previous posts, your allowed one letter typo in first and one letter change in last without providing documents.

I have corrected my name like this before and you will receive an email usually within 24 hours confirming the change

So don't get worried that it does not take immediate effect

And I would seriously consider GreenBeans Advice, protect your SS# to the very end! If I knew than what I know now I'd never of,submitted my SS#

Had this issue before with IRS being unable to verify a EIN and its because the business name was spelled wrong by 1 letter. So yes most likely it will be rejected.

@OP, explore the EIN option - lot of posts for you to consider.

Also - dont rely just on one account, make more backups a la STEALTH
