PayPal now taking 24 hours to send my money?
 

OK so for the last 18 months or so I have withdrawn money to my bank account and it's said it will take up to 2 hours to show in my bank account, in reality the money has been in my bank account immediately. Then today I withdrew £200 and it said it would take up to 24 hours, I checked my bank account and the money isn't in there like it normally is.

Should I be concerned?

Wow that sucks!

I've just tried it again with a smaller amount and it's gone back to 2 hours, very strange.

Lots of changes with the recent paypal update.

Before, if a withdrawal was ever pending on the 24 hours, and subsequent withdrawals whilst the 1st one was still pending would 24 hours as well.

Last day or so they seem to rotate, 2 hours 24, 2 hours, 24 etc. No need to be concerned. Money should release in 21 hours.

I withdraw just £50 and it says that it will 3-5 working days. It's a year old paypal. Arghhh

OP did the withdrawal should complete in EXACTLY 24hours.. Are you saying it didn't ?

Nice system in the UK, here in the US after paypal holds it than takes a couple days to reach our banks and any withdrawal from Thursday to Saturday doesn't show up till Monday

OK so I woke up this morning with an email about the same withdrawal that has initially said 24 hours, it now says 2 hours and the money is in my account.

I'm not complaining but that seems weird to me. Not sure if it's something to do with this dreadful new look paypal I'm being forced to use.

Like aleen, I made a withdrawal last night and it's gone to 3-5 working days.

What happened with the EU ruling on faster payments??

It seems that there is an exception for some companies.

Also 2 hours or 24 hours is pretty huge and very fast if that is till today. For other countries like mine - takes 3-5 business days, usually between the 4th and the 7th day. No one can't complain, except in forums.

Not to mention the "refund withdrawal fee" (in most cases between 1-2% per transaction) - for the bank.

Yes, OP, there is a confirmed problem at present with transfers and paypal UK.

Hi guys thought i'd share this from the paypal UK forum (copied directly)....WORKS PERFECTLY!

"I have just withdrawn money via the new interface in 2 different ways. The first withdrawal I did was by pressing the 'withdraw money' on left hand side under balance. This withdrawal is going to take 2-3 days to clear (so the email says). It is not showing up in my bank.
The second withdrawal was done by clicking on the arrow by paypal balance (on left hand side of screen). A box comes up with balance and underneath it gives the withdraw money option. This takes you into the old interface withdrawal screen where you can withdraw. This second withdrawal is now sitting in my bank account.

It therefore has to be something to do with the interface."

Interesting note about the interface - perhaps some kind of faster toggle for deposit
