Paypal Policy Change

So I just got an e-mail from Paypal stating

"• We're increasing the time for buyers to file merchandise disputes (Item Not Received and Significantly Not as Described) from 45 days to 180 days.
• We're extending buyer protection to include item not received claims for custom made products.
• Because PayPal Seller Protection and Buyer Protection policies may vary from country to country, we're adding language to clarify which country's policy applies when a seller makes a sale to a buyer outside of the U.S."

F.U Paypal.

It takes at least a year for a tracking number to be recycled, this isn't something you need to worry about.

What they are saying is that 100 days from now you can not track a USPS number. It will show nothing and has to be extracted via archives and sometimes is not possible at all.

I get recycled customs number regularly, usually shows delivery 6 months ago until after International departure, then updates current. Really bothers some buyer until the update.

I had dozens of returns and even more people who filed a credit card chargeback 3-4 months after the item was delivered. Tracking info, when available, really helps to fight that. Now, those guys filed credit card chargebacks only because they couldn't file a PayPal case after 45 days. Now they have the full 6 months to do that, which is more than a credit card would give them. So I fully expect more attempts to steal my money. I sell items that I can't always ship with tracking, so I'm not happy at all.

I guess the workaround would be to screenshot when items are delivered amd keep a folder on your computer with just that so if anything does come up you have proof of delivery with the date.

It needs to be out on the forum.

Many have to amend their business plan for these types of changes.

Way around it is to print all tracking info as delivered. Than if no longer available still got hard copy. Most will let you print to pdf file too.

Saving a PDF is the best way. Also, if you didn't save the info, you can ask for it at your post office. They may be able to retrieve the archived delivery information for you.
