Paypal - Donate Button

For anyone who has used the Paypal Donate button... after everything has been verified, what are the chances of a Paypal account being Limited if receiving 50-100$ payments using the Donate Button?

How long is a piece of string?

Any account has the chance of a limitation

The problem is not only being limited but is also linking the 2 accounts.
If something strikes one of the 2 then... what will happen.

This way of proceeding is risky on a brand new account... less risky on aged accounts.

I have had a soft limitation after a donation of $10.00 to a registered Charity.

Shakes head at memory.

@ilcarletto - Thanks for some type of insight of how they treat ppl using the donate button, I understand how paypal works just never knew if they we're more friendly to accounts receiving Donation Lol!!!

@GreenBean - Your 2nd post was better than your first post but not so helpful. I've been here for a while and notice you use that line alot "How long is a piece of string?" ... Answer? Im sure its only as long as its Length!!! now :focus:

My friend has the same button on his website for donations to his unregistered charity. I have not heard any problems yet.

Each account is his different - OP, what works for GoteBay's friend, may not work so well for you...

Now OP...are you trying to use donate as a means to get around fees....?

no there's no way around paypal fee's was just trying to see if Paypal is more friendly to accounts receiving "donations" so an account wont get a hard limitation but it seems its a gamble

That's why it's like finding the length of a piece of string ;)

paypal is so weird with how it treats accounts.

I have two accounts, made in the same month, but in different parts of the USA. Both are fully verified and confirmed.

I do 'mirror' transactions off ebay. Yet paypal treats them differently.

Weird... just like paypal

You could do an account to experiment if you're really interested - otherwise, the idea is flawed...not worth exploring
