Default Bill Me Later

I have PP account and a Bill Me Later Account with a $2000 balance.
Never missed a payment. All of a sudden when I log in it says

"Your PayPal Credit account has been closed. You are still responsible for paying your balance, and you can still view your statements and make payments online."

WTF!

My GUESS here is that PayPal/Bill Me Later are using credit monitoring on their customers. I understand that your account was in good standing with no missed payments, but have there been any major changes on your credit report that you are aware of? These changes could be:
  • Other accounts that have become past due
  • New accounts opened that have increased the overall amount of credit available to you
  • A large number of inquiries on your account, such as what happens when you are applying for credit, especially for a mortgage or auto loan
  • Accounts being closed that you decided you no longer needed

Or, are there any other changes that you can think of?

Many creditors are using credit monitoring for their customers to try to prevent any future losses at the first sign that a borrower MAY BE in trouble.

Most people think of this only as missed payments, but it can also be any of the above scenarios and can happen even if you are financially as solid as a rock.

Hmmm, I have a similar problem. I haven't called them yet, but plan on doing so. I used Bill Me Later to buy about $700 worth of stuff several years a go. Stopped using Paypal/ebay till last month. Saw I have $2,200 credit available, but it always says I need to use a different type of payment when I try to use it. Haven't found any info online, but guessing I don't actually have that credit available or something.
