In regards to VeRo/conterfeit/brand name items in general - how do you know if the source/distributor is legitimate once you find one and not selling you counterfeits as genuine articles?

Edit: I guess I should probably rephrase that as how do you find a legitimate supplier of non-generics? (If anyone is willing to share, if not back to how do you know if one you find is legitimate? Im not scared of doing my own researching to find one, I'm just not sure how to make sure they check out.)
