21 Day Hold Off Ebay Transaction

Hey,

I created a new PayPal last night for an et.sy store that had a few pending payments. I've done this before and never had an issue. Last night, not so much. The payments are pending a 21 day hold. These are not high risk nor costly items.

The bank account has yet to be verified, so I am hoping this resolves the problem.

Does anyone have any experience with this?

Thanks!

21 day holds are pretty standard these days - I have always been a fan of verifying my PPs with the bank in ADVANCE of receiving money

I think you meant the Paypal account has yet to be verified. Interesting that you usually take some payments straight away without holds. I suppose Paypal are on the yuletide warpath as well

I usually have "hold 21 days" and require 3 steps to leave it: 1. 5 exchanges successful; 2. Total exchanges cost is $100; 3. Your age of account at less 3 months. However, you just only need 14 days to pass if remove step 1 and 2. If leave "hold 21 days", receive instant payment; or don't whenever receive payment, you must wait 21 days.

I called and they released the payments aside from some going out of the country..which is common nowadays on even old accounts for me. I guess it was a glitch or random. Since I use legit info (real address/phone/name/ein) they seemed to not be too hard core for small dollar transactions. I'll just have to be a little safer in the future to avoid this again.

when you called what did you need to do and did they remove them for all future transactions or for just the transaction in question? What type of account was it on personal or business?

Is that true, you can remove step 3 after 14 days if steps 1 and 2 are done?

Nothing was required besides an explanation of what I sell. It was lifted for everything except a few international orders. It's a business account.

Sure, almost my account has the same problem is yours, some accounts need more days (15 -> 21 days), some account need less day (10->14 days) but almost account will be release after 14 days. :bounce:

So just to make sure I understand, they no longer place any holds on your account once you have done this, or do you mean they released only those sales after 14 days (or whatever length of time) but NEW payments still have holds placed on them?

Man up and deal with the hold. Honestly you shouldn't even be with drawling money from a new account the first month or so. You have to build up the trust with PayPal. Honestly the impatience of this board is unreal. Can I access my funds for one sale today or can I set this account up to get paid for the next 5 years?

only thing I can come up with in why so many people hate to wait is that PP has limited so many of r accts and screwed us over so many times that now everyones is paranoid and wants funds out ASAP before they get shot down again :s:rolleyes::confused:

The main reason to me is, I am not in the business of loaning anyone money including paypal. Paypal has all the resources in the world to qualify users and they choose to take the easy way out and just hold the funds and like you just said they borrow the money and than if they do not like something or need the loan longer they just extend it to 180 days.

Re: 21 Day Hold Off Ebay Transaction

I make what I sell so I can't let PayPal keep my money given it pays for what I ship. That, and I'm not leaving money for a spastic company to decide they want to hold one day. I'm not sure of others experiences but I can push $20,000+ in brand new accounts and I don't get flagged. Or haven't yet. I was even able to change the hold on this account. Maybe it's the product (real, custom personal owned work) but it keeps me from having issues with PayPal. My issues usually come from ET.SY and their ignorant staff. I can sell thousands on an account, ship out almost immediately (or earliest as possible) and still got tossed because I am not in their little clique. That causes those with in transit items or not yet made orders to panic, despite contact, to file disputes. ET.SY has some seriously paranoid customers so that's what eventually kills my account. Even winning the disputes puts minimum holds on funds and just screws up my business setup. So, I have a bunch of accounts for different things. Some stay fine for years, others go down after a few months. If I at least clear five figures in an account I'm happy. This is not a situation to man up on. It's the way I have to function. And honestly, one shouldn't have to man up and let a money intermediary dictate their livelihood.
