Is it True?

Is it true if you have a payal Stealth account and once you upgrade it to a business account and put it a balid Tax id numner. And if you start selling over 3000 Dollars a month they will not limit your account by asking you to give in a SS number or drivers license

No this is false information. Yes your a less likely to recieve a limitation after you add the EIN but it doesn't mean they still cant ask for it if your selling practices cause a flag. Alot of factors come into play..like how aged your Paypal account is, how many sales you've had etc etc.

Its best to add the EIN only when THEY ask for it. If you upgrade to business its possible they can still require your S.S.

Re: Is it True?

It sounds like your account is toast. Unless the account is real, of course, in that case just give them the driver's license.

About the EIN and a business account... Business accounts tend to be stronger, but they are NOT a GUARANTEE that PayPal won't ask for an SSN or a driver's license. If you have had the account for awhile, and have no history of issues, then you can probably upgrade to a business account without being asked to prove your identity.

BUT, if you have a 7% refund rate, lots of complaints because you ship once every 2 weeks and 50 accusations that you are selling counterfeits, then no, a business account won't help you.

The thing is, like solefoodbk said, it depends on many factors: Your feedback to date, what you are selling, any complaints, your overall refund rate, etc. The fewer your issues, the better off you will be. A refund rate over 2% would be a concern. My accounts average less than a 1% refund rate. That is not to say you wouldn't be OK with a 3% refund rate, if your other factors are all good - this is just a guideline - but in general, the more solid your account, the easier time you will have upgrading to a business account.

Why didn't you listen to me? I replied to your thread almost immediatly upon it posting? You should have waited until they asked you for it! Once they ask you upgrade to business and THEN add EIN. Like jeffweico said your account is now most likely toast. We all make mistakes, learn from this so you don't repeat the same mistake again. :rip:
