Paypal SSN
 

Hi guys I am from the UK and am dropping shipping on a US stealth account pretty expensive goods around the $7-800 range and just wanted to know what I can do if Paypal ever ask me to provide SSN as of course I don't have one. I have bought another 2 accounts so I can spread my sales however it will take a little while to get up and running and by then I might hit the $15-20k mark.

Theres no way of avoiding PP's request for that info when you hit the annual limit.
You could provide an EIN - but you don't live in the US so getting one would be difficult.
Id suggest opening a lot more accounts and spreading your sales across them to avoid ever getting to that point.

7-800 range + dropshipping on a new account = risky.

Are your sales eB-related? That's another risky flag.

You might want to ask a tax professional in the UK about applying for an ITIN. This is an "International Taxpayer ID Number" which allows you to do business in the US and pay taxes on your profits here. I do not have a good knowledge of what the requirements are or how it works exactly, which is why I recommend professional advice in this case.

Because you won't be able to get an EIN or an SSN for any of your accounts. So, the only other solution would be many, many accounts.

Thank you for the response. Yes its eBay related and am not sure what to do might just see how it goes. When does the 20k limit get reset or does it even at all?

You must consider other factors.

paypal can ask for tax info on projected sales too.

Look at the IRS web site.

Internal Revenue Service

See what you are able to do as a non US citizen.

Then you can take professional tax advice to cover yourself and stay trading.

You can use an ITIN to get EINs just like an SSN. Try applying for it and finding more info on how you can get one.
