Tracfone wont get paypal text question

OK, So i know that others on the forum had the same problem with getting paypal text on a tracfone.
i created a Paypal account and it would not get paypals text to confirm the mobile number, and there is no call option instead like how most other sites have both options Paypal does not.

so my questions is can i just use the Paypal with a unconfirmed mobile number?

if you leave your paypal without a mobile # you wont be able to spend any of your paypal money. Im not sure if you will be able to send funds to your bank. Ive had the same problem with tracfone so now I only use verizon prepaid. some people get the text from paypal to their tracfone but I have never got it to work for me.. I dont know why

Check and see if your tracfone has a blue or black SIM card. The phones with a black SIM card get the texts from paypal. The blue SIM cards do not get the confirmation codes.

@fox20c where do you usually find the ones with the black sim card. dollar general, family dollar, WalMart????

Also what about the ones that use the verizon network (CDMA) and don't have a sim card, any experience with those?

Im not sure about those but I would expect they will work just fine. i've never had a problem getting the paypal text with Verizon phones/service... so I would think it will work. I use the flip prepaid verison phones found at any dollar store or walmart etc

They work just fine, the problem is if you try and add the number after you trip up security and they need verification, if u add a phone than unless it's in public records it won't work, u may get lucky here or there

You need to add a phone at the start and keep that number
