The new identification requirements are not fun, to say the least.
That said, in the past two months or so I have had some funds released immediately and on others given a shorter deadline (three months and 45 days respectively) by noting:
1. I can and will sue you locally in small claims court for holding on to my money with no rational basis. It will cost you more to send a representative than to release my funds.
2. I will not be providing any identifying documentation which could be used to steal my identity. Between "Anonymous" and the recent Sony issue I am well aware that no information is safe, and you do not have a need for my private information in order to give me my funds.
Not sure how we are going to get around the ID / documentation issues.
Will be interesting to see in what direction eBay goes after the split, and what alternative payment processors they allow/accept. |
