Misspelled Paypal Name vs SSN Name
 

Hey guys, I know in the book, where it advises to use misspellings in your name, it says to do so at your own discretion, and I quote "Using a nickname or name variation means that if you become limited by Paypal you won't have supporting documentation to lift your account. Now I'm not going to say that Paypal doesn't verify any documents you send them as long as it matches your account details, but that's up to you". Now my question is, for any of you guys with experience on this, if I misspell my name by a letter and later on down the line Paypal requests my SSN, would this be a major issue? Paypal has never had my SSN before, so it couldn't be linked to a previous account. If my Paypal name and my SSN name are off by a letter or two, would Paypal take it seriously?

Yes it makes a difference , when they check if the name and tax Id are a match it is done electronically, so a letter off will come back as a "No Match" and you will need to correct it.

Since we're supposed to try and avoid using the same name from the recent suspended account with the "Name Variation".

Will providing my legal Middle name be okay to replace my legal first name?

But if you need to prove documents to lift limits or anything like that or eventually for your SSN over in America, woukd your middle be accepted on your ID documents!

Nope, tried that and didn't work. Tried the nickname (or short version or my name) and that didn't work either.
