Portable firefox what is..

PORTABLE FIREFOX WHAT IS THE PROPER WAY OF USING THIS TECHNIQUE????

I've Recently limited all my accounts using this method even while keeping separate folders on my desktop. This is due to FLASH COOKIES

Now I remember reading something about using a USB.

Any vets care to elaborate ? ?? :typing:

Open the browser (FFP)

Go to google.com

Type in 'Global Flash Settings'

Under Global Storage settings - UNTICK the two boxes and move the slider to 'Never show again'

Then go to the folder second in from the right (Website Storage Settings) and click delete all websites and make sure the slider is all the way to the left, which will be never ask again.

Make sure to check each FFP before creating accounts, once its done for one it shouldn't happen on any others but best to double check

I understood to this point. Since the flash setting is okay. What do you need to chech on each FFP? Do you meant that I should repeat the whole process while each FFP is opened?

The boxes sometimes decide to tick themselves again.

Really annoying habit, tends to happen after updates.

Its best practice to always double check that the boxes are not ticked before logging into PP or EB, just to be safe.

Download a program called Sandboxie and run each portable browser sandboxed.

You must run the folder sandboxed this way nothing will get out.

I don't know how you got flash cookies on your portable firefox if portable firefox doesn't even come with flash installed as default. If you just remove flash plugin, flash cookies will not be installed. I have no problems browsing eBay without flash installed so why install it in the first place?

thats what I thought I would ignore the install flash up top. Come to find out when checking my flash manager they have been saving flash cookies the whole time.

It does come with flash under the global settings.

Has to manually disabled otherwise a lot of issues occur and accounts will go down like a pack of cards.

Is that are the notorious beacons ? And can they leave some negative effect if they are disabled and PP view that you are disallow it ? I didn't do this before create my new accounts but use usb flash drive for my FFP and different folders i hope the flash content cant take effect . Will delete older flash content for safety. :amen:

Delete all flash cookies. I lost a good 20+ accounts this way at once.

What if you have "show images" disabled in your email settings. Is this still a problem when using Portable Firefox?

Re: Portable firefox what is..

well I've seem to have made a fatal error at some point with these portable browsers. I would like to bring up an important understanding with the way these things work

At one point I noticed FF had not maintained my add-on settings when I copied the browsers over to a new machine. All individual browsers are located in one folder - and are named for their corresponding email accounts. When/if these browsers DO keep LSO flash cookies when adobe is NOT disabled in the add-on settings, where are they kept? would they all share being located within the same folder?

I had a routine of setting my homepages with ipburger, and would usually just check gmail from there as needed. This would allow me to not have to constantly change IP's between accounts while I would manage email notifications, since I was not accessing the vital ebay/paypals themselves. In the event I would log into ebay/paypal, of course an IP switch and log/check would take place. But on MANY occasions, I would go straight from opening the browser, to loading the ipburger homepage, then going directly to gmail (images are of course disabled) and then properly quitting the browser.

I have been very diligent with this procedure since october with seemingly great success. Yesterday many of my personals went down at the same time- ALL linked. All accounts had zero problems or issues. Luckily I don't create accounts using the portable browser method

Regarding the LSOs and possibly even the browser itself, does ebay/paypal have the ability to hide beacons even though their site wouldn't be accessed in that session?

This is also on a MAC - are mac portable browsers in any way different?
