Refunds?

I sold some items on EBAY. I shipped them out. The people requested refunds where i did not say in my ad i give refunds. So these idiots send me back the items.

Meanwhile i get suspended from EBAY and my PAYPAL is limited so i couldnt even send them money.

What should i do? I have their items shipped back to me where i told them i would not refund.

Any thoughts?

well if you got your item back, its only right that you give them back their money. I understand that they were not smart enough to understand NO REFUND but its like: what if it was you ...

I will send them back the item. I said NO REFUNDS plus they threatened my to give me negative feedback etc.

Ebay does have a policy about FEEDBACK ABUSE.

They got the item and said they wanted a refund i said no refunds etc.

Only exchanges.

brandon1984 11-21-2008 12:26 PM

ok so you said no refunds in the ad right?? but paypal has a 90 day refund policy no matter what your ebay account said, give them there money back, all you do is issue a refund

yaw1800 11-21-2008 12:38 PM

i can understand the part about feeback abuse, but sending the item back will only prolong the conflict and cost you more money .. and be careful about a possible chargeback / Paypal claim etc

brandon1984 11-21-2008 12:45 PM

just hit the refund button in paypal and give them there money back, and then just relist it on ebay

yaw1800 11-21-2008 12:50 PM

agree^^^ and if anything just file a mutual agreement to get credited for your FVF

Even if they dont respond you'll get your fvf credit on the 8th day after filing the dispute

aking 11-21-2008 01:16 PM

yea, you will have some people that will do that. Even though you say no refunds, they still want one and then they will threaten to give negative feedback and paypal claims, etc. I generally allow for returns, this gives your buyer a better feeling about buying from you. My items are hot items, so if someone asks for a return, I usually already have it sold again before it even gets back to me.

No matter what you put in your listing, if they send the product back Paypal (or any credit card company) will make you refund then one way or the other. I know it stinks but that's just the way it is...

SLOTHMASTER70 11-21-2008 11:31 PM

Thanks for the input but my account on EBAY has been suspended and also my paypal limited so i cant send anyone money.

brandon1984 11-22-2008 06:09 AM

yaw1800 11-22-2008 07:57 AM

What an ass hole buyer. Just sends the item back threatening me also.

When I said i will honor my ad and exchange the item for them no problem.

I have proof with the delivery confirmation i sent the item. If anything i will fight to just exchange it.

I sold a comforter set 3 months ago. I have a 7 day return policy however this comforter set was sent back to me yesterday without any notice.
Now what am I supposed to do with that comforter set?
The buyer used it for 3 months. Should I refund her/him?

I wouldn't give him/her a dime. Even walmart wont take that back.

I agree. That, under no circumstances would i accept that back. They can't do anything also because the 45 day time frame to file any type of dispute has passed

brandon1984 11-22-2008 11:45 AM

its actully 90 day return for paypal, call paypal and tell them the circumstances

yaw1800 11-22-2008 11:54 AM

i meant the time frame to file a dispute, has it changed from 45 to 90?

You should save your time and grant the refund. You will end up losing in the long run. They already sent the item back, there has to be a reason why they sent the item back, and 99/100 times, PayPal will decide in favor of the buyer. PayPal does not care what the terms of your auction are, they care about making sure buyers keep using their service to pay people. They are the biggest payment company not because of their service, but because they've made the world think if they don't pay via PayPal they will get ripped of. :p

I think so. I think they got sick of buyers just filing chargebacks so they figured this would keep them out of the fight. Did you know they charge you fees for chargebacks too now?
