Using Greendot with your Paypal Account?
 

Hey I just wanted to ask you guys who are using Greendot with your Paypal accounts.

Whats the very most you withdraw every single month from Paypal to your Greendot card?

The reason I ask is because I have heard so many times that if you are sending to much funds to a Greendot card or to much funds at one time Greendot will lock and freeze the funds in your Greendot account.

The only reply you get out of Greendot afterwards is they say you are using Greendot for business purposes.

Greendot doesn't like mismatch name deposits......stop using them.

Im very surprised to hear that. I have been using 4 different Greendot cards on 4 different accounts for over a year and have not had a problem yet.

When you did use Greendot what was the very most you would withdraw from Paypal to Greendot every month?

Last known limit was no more than $500 per time no more than $1000 total per month.

Thankyou mike thats what i have heard as well from friends have you tested those monthly withdraw limits yourself using a Greendot card?

Yes I have in the past. If you exceed them then it will get sent back. If you have too much funds and too many greendots you will get shut down. Like MM said it's playing with fire. Only use them if you have too get a real bank asap!

Sorry for resurrecting an old thread. I have had numerous greendot cards over the years, so many that I've lost count. I had to get some new ones recently and I went to set up the account online and one I was ok with setting up the profile and all that and then the next and next after were all declined. I haven't bothered to call as I didn't want to "upset the apple cart" on my ones that are still active. Do they limit you to a certain amount? I have 4 currently active and probably 15-20 over the years that I just made sure they were zero and tossed them. (I know, I know, not the best idea, but I was arrogant and overflowing with checking accounts, etc.)

And yes, all the greendot accounts were in my real name and ssn.

Required the SSN from what I read about them so kind of a given, no?

Greendots don't work with mismatch names.....simple as that.

Yeah, I know I was just clarifying on the ssn.

It works, you just have to be close and actually, some of my older ones aren't EVEN close to matching, but I don't do more than $500-$800 in withdrawals.

Still, my question lingers....is there a magic number as to how many GD prepaids you can have in your name?

you will get 0/0 every time with this and get banned.

GD set a new limit of 2. After 2 I always get the you have reach the maximum number allowed.

Dont forget GreenDot also charges you a monthly fee if there is less than $1000 in your account...they are generally difficult with PayPal and a rep-off all around from my experience
