Thanks to all for your help and advice before. I have a couple more questions I am hoping you can help with.

I am UK based.

Is it ok to have several transactions through my US Paypal account all for overseas currencies (euro/uk £)

I have tried several gold dealers but have yet to find any that will deal with me paying via Paypal? Can you advise of any

Can you recommend any US parcel companies that would forward on items bought in the US to my UK address, or could I email the seller through their Paypal email address a request them to ship to address in the UK instead?
