I purchased a old ebay account with someones paypal info attached. They will change
 

Hello,
I would like to know how I should proceed with this transfer. I purchased a 10 year old ebay account with someone's info attached to the ebay account and they have their paypal account attached also. They live in a different state than me. I am going to create a paypal account to attach to the ebay account. What info and in what order should I have them change their info into my info. I know you have to do it slow, but I was hoping someone could give me a guideline to do it so their are no red flags.

Ideally, you should get that other pp account as well for smooth operations. A new pp addition can spark a security flag...I wouldn't risk it.

so would I ask them for the paypal account also? I am not sure they will do that as I do not think you can delete all of their personal info.

And that's the problem - the info of pp should IDEALLY match the info of eb to avoid problems...different registration info has been known to cause problems. You should get the old PP for smooth transition

That's why people on here always recommend AGAINST what you did.
No matter what you do your options are limited and are all less than ideal.
You either use the persons Paypal - if he agrees to give it to you - which I doubt he will) which is a problem if you wish to grow this account past the 20k annually mark because now youre getting 1099k forms in his name and getting him in trouble with the tax authorities.
Or the other option is opening your own account which will forever be linked to his account. Anything he does wrong will automatically reflect on you - he goes down you go down along with him - and vice versa of course.
Bad idea all around.

Agree with Slokor, I don't see why people think it's a good idea to buy accounts that actually belong to someone which might have an SSN, etc attached to the accounts. How many times are we going to say "NOT" to do this type of deals?

If you purchased an account that has the paypal attached to it still and you got the paypal with it....USE THAT PAYPAL. Do not create a new one. Add your bank account to the paypal so you can withdraw from it. If you start adding another paypal account to the 10 year old ebay, and the original paypal account was still good, it's going to raise flags. Technically, someone should only have one paypal account. They're going to start asking "why does this guy have another paypal account when the first was perfectly fine?"

I did this exact thing about two years ago successfully, and this is how:

I made a new PP with a name variant of the original, fully set up in a new environment of course.

I did NOT link it to the EB account yet! Nor did I remove the link to their original PP under the account tab in EB.

I then made sales with payments going to MY PP, and kept up with fees via one time payments.

after a few months I removed their original PP link and linked mine

I also did this 3 years ago, but I forgot the steps I did to change everything over. I did have some issues but I actually got through it and I am successfully selling on the account still. What steps do you think I shpould take to change his ebay info over to my paypal info?

his EB info over to your PP info?

changing the owner of an account is against policy, but if its a must, change the last name and try getting away with saying you got married... but that is a large flag and you should expect ID verification if they call about it, which is likely.

and if the paypal is YOUR info, or any info attributed to any other EB account, expect more problems.

doing what I did is about the limit of whats possible, and even still in no way does it guarantee success. Adding additional variables and changes will only greatly increase the chances of failure.

A fresh new paypal would be the best bet
