I think I did something stupid
 

Obliviously I'm new here, so I apologize if this is the wrong section but I may have done something stupid.

I don't know much about PayPal since I only use it to get payments from YouTube and buy video games and vg related stuff. I have my bank account linked too in cause I need to transfer money.

So my friend has a limited account, obviously prior doing this, I didn't know much of it, but I knew he couldn't touch the money but we tried to put my bank info anyway and it accepted it, we thought we would able to transfer the money to my bank but nope, but that isn't the issue.

Afterwards after he called, he got limited because he had multiple accounts, nothing severe. The PROBLEM is because my bank account is linkted with a limited account, will my account get limited soon because they will associate my account with his? (Im still good but Im afraid if something happens)

Also Im not really worried about him touching my bank because I know that cant do anything, period and I trust him too. The only problem is the above.

Are you sure that bank account got attached if it was already on another paypal account?

Something is not right here. Can you expand further, please?

For the future, try to operate without a friend in tow, Clent. Nice as they are they can muck up our lives.

Unlikely your account will be affected unless reg. info are exactly the same as friend's and (perhaps) if you have done many PP transfers to him...few examples to consider

If the same bank is attached to several PP accounts, and one of them is limited, all other accounts will be limited as well. Not instantly, but they already have a red flag over them.

Are you sure ot was accepted? In the past I tried atraching my bank account to more than one paypal and it would not allow it.

you cannot add the same account number to more than one paypal account, you get blocked on paypals system for doing this and a red error message comes up saying that those details are on another account.

Did you log into your friends paypal account, on the same internet connection you use to log in?

This I don't understand - how can your bank account be on his account and on your own? PP doesn't allow re-use of a bank account...

Thanks for the reply.

I have the credentials to the account so I can log in, and when I check the banks attached to the account, I can see mine.

But maybe it isn't really attached despite it showing in the profile? Because I know PayPal usually takes out 1 dollar to confirm, they didn't.

I cannot edit my post (or yet, so hopefully a mod can add this portion when reviewing it) but I figured out why it accepted my bank account.

See, I opened my bank account 2 years ago (I was 18) in Bank of America, so they always give you a temporary card with a temporary number.....that's the one that is linked with my PayPal, which works fine and all.

So although is the same account, its two different bank and account numbers, so is that's why it went through? Also, I know for a fact that PayPal doesn't have access to the bank account information such as the name and stuff.

To answer @Bunneh, yeah, I used the same IP Address but the thing is, my father and a particular friend uses PayPal a lot too, obvious under the same internet for the past years and it was never an issue, so I should be okay, right?
