New type of docs required by paypal

Today paypal asked me to send in something like:

- Please provide a copy of your re-sale agreement with "BRANDNAME".

I wonder if I say to them that I sell my personal belongings, will it be ok? I've managed to sell a couple of items before getting this. Account is quite young.

Clearly you've sold multiple brand name and they want to see your permission.

Items were not bought from the manufacturer itself, but from a local shop. Hope they will be happy with the invoice the shop has given me.

What were the items you were reselling? Paypal must have some concerns to request some form of resale agreement

It was some software. I am just wondering because never had requests for such type of documents. Usually, they were asking for like invoice, id, proof of address, and that's was all.

Software is high risk, especially "big name" stuff like Adobe, or Microsoft

Paypal are increasingly requesting some evidence that you have permission to resell software from the manufacturers, and if you dont have this permission, then you can kiss your account goodbye.

Of course, they are selective in applying this rule. Tell me, did you recently have any listings removed under VERO? This can trigger this type of request

I've never sold software successfully. Usually someone flags it as a f*ke, even when listed as new.

The only time I sold it and actually thought all was okay....

7-8 months later I got a email from Paypal saying I was permanently limited because I was selling counterfeit software products. Keep in mind I had sold Microsoft Office 2007 new, and I had the buyer leave me good feedback. Go figure.

Shop receipts? Haha...don't kid yourself.

Anyone can make up some random "shop" name and PP is not that stupid.

TRY AGAIN or bust.

Not a single vero issue for 2 months. But PayPal outrages.

Sure, but they do ask for receipts, and if they ask, it should be sent. At least it worked for me several times. By the way, i wonder why some of my accounts selling the same thing have been only asked for a proof of address, and since then are selling vero without issues, and others sell 1 item, and then are required to send in like 10 different documents.

Are you saying you sent receipts from random shops and they approved it?

Because certain companies require you to be authorised to sell items. If you do not get permission , the company report you to ebay..and you know the rest.

Are you selling physical goods, or digitally delivered?

I know that, but usually such items end by MC999. But in this case, it is PP's initiative.

I sell physical items, retail boxes, not OEM or something like that.

They can change their minds and ask for whatever they want

They need to know YOU the seller have the right to resell the item.

Not going to be easy to persuade them you have.

Does not matter if it's boxes or software. If there's no OK to sell the goods, you can not do it
:amen:

Two accounts had same issue, and almost identical set of documents was supplied to PP. One of them survived, other died. Weird.
