Basically the question is on a stealth ID Driving licence can paypal or eBay electronically Verify the ID number?

I DO know that passport numbers from most countries CAN be electronically verified. Whether or not PayPal does that I do not know.

In the USA, they CAN verify driver's license information from some states, but not others. This is because only SOME states will share their information with non-government entities. What they can do in the UK, that I don't know.

I have also noticed that when eBay/PayPal ask for a copy of your driver's license, they want BOTH the front and the back. I believe that is because they want to scan the barcode on the back of the driver's license. The 3D ones usually contain the same information on the front of the license in a certain format. Since most people do not know that, they could maybe spot attempts at passing a ⊗⊗⊗⊗ license? But that is JUST MY THEORY.

Weird I've have had accounts reinstated with just the front. I've never given the back of an id.

But I've noticed this year id's are not coming along smooth anymore. It's actually better to avoid them if possible.
