Wife open a paypal account without my knowledge on our internet connection. PROBLEMS?
 

Hello,
My wife opened a paypal account without my knowledge on our internet connection which I am running a stealth ebay/paypal account. Will we be automatically link and suspended? I am using a stealth name and she is using her real name.

She will not be suspended unless one of you do something bad, as then both of you will get suspended.

ok, thank you for this information. She opened it for her business and she just wanted it for the card reader for the iphone, to swipe credit cards. She will not be using it for actual online transactions. I am going to get her a different card reader service and I am going to have her shut down her paypal account. Does that seem good?

Generally as a one off IPs do not cause a strong enough link to get accounts shut down.

Make sure it does not happen again though

you guys are most likely linked. lets say any of you get suspended Both accounts go down.

Its not a for sure positive you are linked by IP address. Sometimes you get a pass.

But if you actually used the same computer and shared cookies and IP address. You can count on being linked.

we did not use the same CPU. just the same IP address. Should I shut down her account, get her a independent credit card service/reader and change my ip address clear cookies and cache?

If you used different machines or user account and you have shared only the IP you should be fine as other said above.
Clearing things now is useless. Be sure not to repeat IP linking again...

What do you mean with "get her a independent credit card service/reader"?

Are you two linked in some other way? Is it something related with PayPal?

If all she wants is a card reader sign her up for "square" card reader. Its free. Theres a few others out there as well. You guys are most likely linked. Your already walking on a tight rope as it is with stealth why roll the dice letting her jump on with you?

Thanks for the help everyone. I am trying to search for the best independent card card service that I can sign here up so she can use a card reader to swipe people's credit cards. I am going to close her paypal account. I will look into "Square" does anyone know any other credit card processors with card readers that you can hook up to a iphone?
