[Help Please] Paypal asking for D.O.B
Someone sent me $30 as a gift but paypal put that money on hold until they review it and after 3 days they asked the "sender" to verify the date of birth of the receiver (me!) otherwise they will limit his account! and the problem here is that i don't know the D.O.B for my account because it's a stealth U.S account and i can't reach the seller of the account right now.
the question here, is my account also will be in danger of limitation?
is there anything the "sender" can do to avoid problems with paypal?

Never heard of such a requirement by paypal.
Are you sure its a legit message from paypal? cause it kinda sounds like a phishing scam. |

What country are the two accounts involved?
You said your account is a US account - is this true?
Where is the other account - the sending account - based from?
Almost sounds like something related to homeland security concerns... |

My account is a U.S stealth account and the sender account is also a U.S account,,
what i think about it is that when the sender sent me the money he quoted our conversation in skype and put it in the Notes field! and in this conversation i was using my own real name (not the stealth account name) , so i think when paypal put the payment into review they suspect that there's two different names the sender is dealing with that's might be the reason why they have done that.
One more thing, they asked for the D.O.B for my real name not the name in the stealth account! so they have read the notes the sender puts in the payment process |

| Man it's not me, it's the sender who done that!,, he did that because he thought he could be safe and not be scammed and now paypal want to limit his account not Mine!

In this case I would just call them and plead innocence, just make sure yo have all details and say a friend was sending some money he owed. |

Hi,
Call up PayPal and tell them your real DOB(doesn't actually have to be real) which will obviously not math their records so tell them you entered the wrong one when making the account, they will then ask some security questions, which you need to answer accurately.

Similar thing happened to me. I bought (or at least tried to buy) a personalised greeting card for Eid from eBay, in the message section to the seller I added the person’s name I wanted to appear on the card.
The money were held by PayPal and 3 days later I received an email asking me to confirm the date of birth of the person I am buying the card for. I called them and spoke to two people, they wouldn’t lift the limitation unless I gave them the date of birth and I was told by a manager they were required by law?? What a nonsense, it’s none of their business! |

next time foward any suspicious emails to spoof@paypal.com and you will be told if it is authentic Paypal email.
why not just give your DOB and get it over with? |

| It happened to me but a bit different when I purchased an item they asked me the date of birth ,if you didn't insert any date of birth on PayPal just made up do what they asked , send an email to them with a d.o.b. |
