Unable to add RBS saving account to PayPal
 

I've been able to successfully use RBS and Barclays Savers with Paypal in the past. However, with one of the new paypal accounts, I can't seem to be able to add the saver account. I am currently using 3 RBS savers with paypal.

This is the message I received from paypal when I tried to enter the bank details:

"We're sorry, we're unable to link that bank account because it is disabled. Please try another bank account."

I can assure you that this is a brand new savings account and that it has a unique number too. I added the bank account on Friday when it asked me to confirm the account. I thought I would wait a couple of days and then confirm the account, so I didn't click on confirm right away. However, today, I noticed that I received an email from paypal stating that they tried two bank deposits that failed (that seems to be an outright lie because RBS accepts payments in any name). When I tried adding it again today, I got this message.

Any ideas or opinions on what happened there? I can't seem to figure out why the bank account was disabled on paypal before I could even use it on paypal.

Not to helpful for you, but it's working fine for me, added an RBS savers today, but I did confirm it with the deposit code straight away

Thanks for the reply James... Good to know that RBS savers are still working! I will probably give them a call and see what happens.

Just an update and some good news regarding the RBS savers..

I had paypal call me and told the customer service guy what problem I was having. He removed the block on the bank account and asked me to add it again. I added and confirmed it instantly, this time, and everything is fine! Hope it helps anyone else who runs into this issue with paypal.
