New account and confirm identity.

It used to be where if you got a new payment, you're future payments would released if you had $150 in sales, 5 sales etc etc or you can get it released by getting a phone call and confirming your identity that way. Today the only way to confirm my identity was through entering the last 4 of the SSN#. Anyone else get this? Are the forms of getting holds removed gone now? This is on a business account.

Recently, PayPal has been asking for the last 4 digits of your SSN when creating a business account. I believe there is another thread with a workaround, something about exiting out of that particular screen. Try searching for it or hopefully someone else will chime in.

No, they've been doing that for over a year now. Im talking about when you get a payment and it allows you to release future payments.

Re: New account and confirm identity.

in my experience, timing seems to be important with this

the clock to lift the 21 hold starts automatically when you receive your first payment, and thats when the email or notifications go out - to get you to lift future payments

problem is, the natural tendency is to do this right away. DONT. No matter what you do, you will not shorten the time it will take.

so in my experience, if I wait a good while and build solid successful sales history, and THEN click the confirm identity option to lift future payments - I only get a verification request via phone call. Easy peasy

so its my personal recommendation to wait as long as you can to try and lift the 21 day hold for future payments. Doing it on day 5 of the 60/90 day period (depending on ebay or private payments) has NO difference than doing it on day 50.
