Hello!
In which case pp request SSN in individual account? And DOB? In general when PP need make verification?

Not sure what you need mind explaining

But going with what you have, paypal asks for SSN when you get to or around (200 items sold or 20k in received money). From what i know the only time they asks for DOB is when you get some kind of limit

There are two instances in which PayPal will ask for an SSN.

The first is when their algorithm tells them that you MIGHT have more than 200 items sold and $20,000 in sales for the current year. This will happen before you even get CLOSE to 200 items. And when it happens, you can give them an EIN.

The second is when they suspect something is wrong and they want to verify your identity. It could happen when they account is 2 days old or 2 years old, there is no way to predict it. Having said that, the longer an account exists without having any issues, the more stable it is.

I'm not quite sure that this is true anymore. I just recently tried to create a fresh pp business account with a newly formed LLC and EIN but was asked to provide SSN and DOB immediately.

Someone on this forum mentioned that this is a minor glitch and everything would be kosher if I just opened a new tab and typed pp....dot...com.

This does not work either.

Perhaps PP is getting greater wind of stealth pp accounts and are forcing everyone to provide ssn from this point on?

Welcome to the forums - they can ask at any point - can be related to VOLUME of $ coming in, riskiness of items, and even PROJECTED SALES RATE - to name a few

This started happening as PayPal rolled out their new user interface. It COULD be a glitch, but it could also be a new PayPal security measure.

If it is, then it falls under identity verification.

Time will tell. Until then, people can still create personal accounts.

Interesting, I wonder if they opened a Premier Account....then open the Business Account will it work.
