Using a EIN?. How does this work regarding stealth. why use?.

Is this so you can sell more after they ask for a social without actually providing a social?. Because I still see that the account that uses a ein are said to get limited later even tho You have a ein. Isn't a ein just as sufficient as a social security number, If so why would they eventually limit the account later?.. So I am confused. Will paypal only report if you go over 200 items and 20000? and in the mean time just want the social for preparation just in case you do, or do they report before then?. I'm really confused about using a ein. Thanks.

An EIN/SSN doesn't make an account bulletproof. Your account can go down even with an EIN. EIN/SSN are asked by PayPal when you reach or get close to the 200/$20,000 or your projected to get close those limits.

Do you have a "magic" number you don't exceed on accounts per month? Like for instance 5k?

I'm doing 2k on some accounts.

I don't know much about this and would certainly like to more as well.

When registering for your EIN, whats best to use? Sole Proprietor, LLC, etc?
If choosing Sole Proprietor, it will ask if you're applying for an EIN for the purpose of 'Starting a New Business', 'Banking Purposes', etc. Does this selection make a difference in the outcome?
When registering as a Sole Proprietor, it asks for your Name/SSN which "Must match IRS records".

I guess, what I'm trying to understand is, how does any of this work if you're running a stealth?

I have an EIN using my legit info, can this be attached to my limited stealth account?

Honestly I've noticed a higher number of accounts getting reviewed/flagged for withdrawing 5k+ each month. Lowered it to 3k with more accounts and haven't had any issues.

How about the amounts of payments you can accept per month

Same thing.

They look at it as a risk. If there's more money coming in, there's a higher chance more people can chargeback and PayPal is stuck with the bill. By spreading out the funds/withdraws you lower the risk and decrease the chances of being flagged/reviewed.

Who knows what the magic number is -- but I have noticed a lot of reviews start happening around 5k/mo, while rarely having any problems around 3k/mo

Wouldn't 5k a month put you over the 20k , in like 4 months....?

my point was, that it would get you flagged and require an EIN or SS.

"Magic" number isn't the right word because obviously alot depends on what were selling etc etc. But I'm sure theres a number that once you hit it kinda raises flags and checks on accounts. It would only make sense for them to do it too. I'm not complaining...

Jeff had a thread about one of his long term accounts getting suspended and he suspected it was because of 5K.

I'm thinking that sounds about right.

I'm sure anyone moving that much money has a EIN already on their paypal, or at least I will once I get to that point. I'm not there yet but its a nice number to stay below.

Hey....if thats my problem PER month I'd have to say its a pretty good one.
