PP add bank account phone call to confirm identity
 

I want to add a bank account and PP wants to phone verify (automated call or text message). Looking for a good cheap phone/service. Is the tracfone the best alternative?

The other thing is that i have a random phone in my original profile, so i will have to change that when i get a cheap phone

Adding a phone might not work since paypal prefer to see the original number used.
Also, the fact theyre asking for phone verification means they have an issue with the bank youre using. Use a different bank and they wont ask for this. What bank are you using?

It is not going to work, you will need to have the original phone number on the account active in order to pass the verification. Adding a number will just give you an error stating that it isn't the original phone number on the account.

Most likely you are using a bank that is prompting that such as Gmac or Ally. Never had issues with phone confirmation adding Chase or Bank of America.

You can call them on new phone and tell them you used your old number by mistake... They get calls with lost info, etc, etc all the time... Be prepared to answer other questions for identity such as birthdate, etc,etc... Stuff you already logged on PP

Or simply use a better bank account instead of a blacklisted one.

If you are talking about the verification that triggers when you click on a bank for automatic verification, then you will have to use a phone capable of receiving texts and calls from PayPal. A lot of forwarding numbers are blocked. TracFone is probably your best option. BUT, you need one with a SIM card that has BLACK PRINTING on a white SIM CARD. If the SIM card is printed BLUE on white, then it will not work. And the LG305c phones have no SIM cards and ALWAYS work with PayPal.

Unfortunately, in my experience, the S150g's and LG440's have mostly the BLUE printed SIM cards and those are the ones that you commonly find on sale for $5. Some of them may have the BLACK printing, but not too many.
