Most of the time, chargebacks are resolved in favor of the BUYER. Why? Because the buyer files with his bank, and the bank has the final decision on the chargeback. Since the buyer is their customer, they usually side with them UNLESS there is proof of buyer fraud.
All you can do is provide whatever evidence you have of the order. If the buyer paid for website design, for example, you could provide a screenshot of your work along with the website information. That does not mean that their bank will side with you, but it at least shows PayPal that you ARE providing a legitimate service.
Chargebacks are usually rare for me. So all I can give you is generic advice for avoiding them. I think the number one thing you can do is to make sure that the buyer understands exactly what he is buying. When you get the order, write up a description of the services you will provide, in detail and send it to him via email. That way, if he claims he thought he was getting something that you never intended to provide, you can show them the email. Again, this is not 100% protection, but it couldn't hurt. |
