Is Google Voice alright for opening new accounts?
 

Been using TracFone's in the past, and heard GV works but then read conflicting reports that it doesn't anymore? Just wanna check before I bother setting up a new stealth, does Google Voice work when setting up the new account?

From my experience, 99% of the time, you will get zero limit. Tell me if that's worth your time.

Not at all. Any alternative to TracFone? I've cleared out all the local stores TracFone's, not that there was many.

Google voice can be used STRATEGICALLY, but I would not use it to create accounts. It can be useful as a backup number just in case. But I wouldn't try to use it to confirm an account.

I know that another member here LOVES GV, he calls in to get his limits raised from 0/0 but I don't really like that method. If it works for him, great, and if it is something you are interested in, then by all means, go for it, but I will stick with my TracFones.

Calling in is not 100% you will get selling limits, it is more like a gamble.

yeah tracfone is the safer bet and cost only about 5 bucks

I absolutely hate using GV. TracFone is so much easier.

So with a fresh account with good info and a TracFone, does that lower the odds of flagging the 21 day holds on non ebay payments?

21 day holds are the norm for any new accounts. It doesn't matter if you have good info or not.

You just have to put up with the 21 day holds on any new account. But they go away quickly enough. Once PayPal sees that you are delivering your items and your customers are happy, the 21 day holds disappear.

And they can happen on older accounts too. If you have not sold for a long time and then you start selling again, PayPal MAY put 21 day holds on your payments, just as if it were a brand new account.

I had very bad luck with google voice, when I create an account with google voice I ALWAYS get a 0/0 limit haha

Whats the problem with GV? Why is not OK to confirm this way? I usually always do.

trust me the free phone sites and apps are not worth it
stick to real phones
