How to avoid SSN request?
 

Is there a way to avoid the SSN request? Back in 2013, it appears people were able to just ignore it, but it seems like in recent times, accounts are getting suspended due to not providing it and it seems they're getting it much earlier than the 200item/$20,000 limit.

I wonder... is that 20,000 limit corroborated by law?

Oh, https://www.paypal.com/us/webapps/he...utionId=FAQ729. It appears that it's both $20,000 AND 200 items. If you sell 300 cheap items (Less than $20,000), then paypal doesn't need your SSN for IRS reasons. But, will they request it anyways?

They request based on there own set of guidelines on projected sales.

Amazon is exactly 50 transactions limitation and request at 25 items.

We are fortunate paypal is so lenient in comparison.

That makes sense. I remember getting the SSN request after so many sales, and it seems like the 'monthly limit' seems about right. I probably exceeded the monthly limit, having gotten something like $6000 in sales in 2 months. (However, I didn't receive nearly that much in my paypal account leading me to suspect that paypal bases it off of ebay sales and not paypal revenue.)

$20,000/year = $1666/month = $384/week = $54/day. It seems likely they either use the weekly or monthly metric. I'm guessing weekly since someone sold a $1000 laptop and got the SSN request.

I know, thank god they're so lenient. Imagine how much sales would be diminished if they started enforcing it on everyone.

PP is known to use the limit/SSN request based on project sales rate.

@OP, do you spread sales on multiple accounts?

It applies to everyone and theres no way around it.
Good thing an EIN can be applied as a workaround. Then again that means youll be paying taxes on all your sales.
I myself prefer the approach of spreading sales across multiple accounts. Worked for me for years now.

I thought people who applied an EIN had to supply an SSN anyways? (If I remember correctly, someone just 2 months ago had to supply the last 4 of SSN and DOB.)

My question is if you have a ⊗⊗⊗⊗ name and get an EIN on the ⊗⊗⊗⊗ name can you pay taxes on the ⊗⊗⊗⊗ name and the IRS will not bother you?? Or is it dumb to try and pay taxes on a ⊗⊗⊗⊗ stealth account??

If I buy a stealth account am i to only limit myself to 20,000 per account and I dont fully inderstand the LLC thing.I am in NY if my name is John Doe I would have to register as Johnathan Doe for LLC and pay taxes on the LLC??? And is there a monthly or yearly filings?? And how would I go about doing LLC in ny???How long would it take?

Spread you sales, it not only reduces your risk of losing a huge % of you rbusiness but you can also pull in more money while better staying umder the radar....for example you have 2 accounts and 1 goes down youre losing 50% and can only make a max of 40k per/y if you have 20 account and lose 1 account youre losing %5 and can bounce back and or lean on your other account and also make 400k per year.....less risk and more under the radar is a win win situation....it does take more organization to run many accounts but its well worth it in the long run......if you LLC an account you can do 60K per year but why not just open 3 more accounts instead

Unfortunately I do not have the luxury of juggling accounts when I have to juggle 2 small children.. I need a more straight forward approach...anyone??

to be clear ALL BANK AND COMPANY INFO MUST BE IN YOUR REAL DETAILS unless you want to face jail time.

It is not hard to run 10 accounts at one time even if you had ten children.

But will the kids rememeber who you are..
besides wouldnt the LLC have you running the business full throttle without limitations..no 10 accounts..just make the money and pay taxes. what is the downfall of the LLC

Company or no company, you still have the same exact selling limitations and at any time can be limited/suspended.

No downfall of a company. Just have 10 or 100 of them to spread sales, reduce risk and get good selling limits across all accounts.

Hi, With LLC are limitations only to sell or also to buy?

LLC makes no difference in buying...

Just open an account and buy until your heart is content. IF you are buying high dollar items such as cars, ebay has a process for approval of that.

One account is the riskiest way to go...if you plan on LLC verification and plan on doing huge sales numbers on one account they WILL look inot you further and you either get made or get caught some other way in the mean time....plus as said above with only 1 account you have to run under the limits for that account, while with having countless accounts you have countless limits and make countless money and end up like pablo escobar spending 2k a month just for rubber bands to roll your money, with added hard work of course
Conclusion just make more accounts and youll be running under less risk of losing huge portions of your business.....search the forum for ways to run multiple accounts, there are countless threads on ways to switch ips quickly or run a VPN with fresh IP which fellow member @123 can supply you with and can run multiple accounts at the same exact time virtually

I think doing verification with LLC, but I will not make sales, I'm just going to make purchases ($20k per month apox), I can have problems limit?. Thanks!

I notice a pattern here..very few actually help with answers but the majority of those here, seem to laugh and think it's funny for newbies to ask questions..it's ignorant not to ask questions. If you don't have a positive response to give..why waste energy leaving any response
