Capital One 360 Savings won't work w/ paypal?

Tried registering my savings account with Paypal (It needs to "link" it), but whenever I press the submit button, paypal replies...

"We are not able to process your request. Please try again later."

Is there something wrong with their savings accounts for paypal, now? Has paypal banned the Capital one savings accounts?

Ok, tried doing it through another link on their site and it now says in yellow-background text:

"You cannot add a bank at this time."

And with a phone icon on the right side of the page; image description is "call us".

Ok, what gives?

Yes, I have read that cap360 is now officially banned as of a year or so ago

Huh, capital 360 was recommended in the emails just recently and the paypal site lets one specifically click "Capital 360 savings account"(Incidentally, right after that, paypal was like "You cannot add a bank at this time. Call us.", so maybe that's a sign they specifically do ban them.). However, I could easily see why their bank accounts would be banned if they're rampantly used by fraudsters, which the signup to capital one seems to suggest (We have a 5 day hold on all incoming funds due to fraud protection, etc.). Weird since I've had this account since forever.

Does anyone recommend paypal signup alternatives? VBA, VCC, etc.? I really hope the guide I bought still works.

Yep, seems like someone else is having problems. Seems like a somewhat recent phenomenon given all the 2014/2015 google results.

I just got off the phone with a Paypal representative who I asked to help me transfer money from my Paypal account to my linked Captial One 360 checking account. He stated, in a nutshell, that Paypal does not allow transfers to Capital One 360 accounts. Period.

I would take him at his word, but a quick Google search for "paypal does not allow transfers to capital one 360" yields no confirmation whatsoever, and a search for "Capital One 360" on these forums yields nothing either. It just seems extremely strange that Paypal not playing nice with a huge bank like Capital One 360 leads to no internet commentary whatsoever!

Can someone explain to me what is going on?

Ben

I guess VBAs are the order of the day. Still wonder... is it hard getting money out of the paypal accounts, now? lol. Not having a 'real' bank account attached sounds like a doomed strategy.

I have 2 paypal accounts attached to capital 360 but those are old, it still lets me withdraw from them. I dont have any holds on the incoming money. But I have been with them since before Capital one bought them.

If those 2 paypal accounts ever get limited I will be done with Capital One. I hope the OP knows there is also business accounts he/she can make.

They are picky on mismatched names, so you will run into problems there.

It makes more sense to add a VBA to your account before you add your real bank account. Get the account going and make sure its working properly and only then add your real bank account. No point in 'burning' a bank account if the account fails for whatever reason during the first few weeks of its life when it is most vulnerable.

Yep, I can see there being issues here with the bank account. So after I wait sometime after the paypal gets created, I just add any bank account I want? That seems fishy. But, yet, I presume that's what happens anytime someone buys a user on here so I guess it's OK? This seems weird. Or must I ensure my bank account has the exactly same name on the paypal? Is my own name OK if I already have a paypal account? Or, must I use a bank account that allows slight mismatches and paypal doesn't care so paypal essentially sees a different name? Obviously the bank account needs to have everything correct.

paypal cant see the name on the bank, just make sure your bank is cool with mismatch names

boa, chase, pnc are good for that

So you can make as many paypal accounts as you have bank accounts? It seems like there's a limit to the amount of banks that allow mismatch banks. Are there any 'cool banks' that offer an absurd amount of accounts for paypal purposes? (Paypal doesn't allow Capital One, probably due to their ability to create millions of accounts)

Those 3 seem like that'd be good for... 6-10 paypal accounts?
