Bank Account Marker

Got Natwest suspending my bank account and giving me a marker. I guess its because I closed 3 savers, the opened 3 savers, then again closed 3 savers in a short period.

I am waiting for some letter now and may have to go into branch, any idea what I can tell them?

You can say almost anything beyond "im laundering money" and they would give it a chance.

I would just tell them that you have a hobby of building micro online businesses for people and your turn around rate is high because your clients move onto managing things themselves.

My response would very much be dictated by the transactions that went through the three accounts during the time they were open.

I assume there was a PP verification transaction followed by some withdrawals in different names on all three? Perhaps you were going to go into business with some friends and then you realised you shouldn't be using savings accounts?

As an aside, what are you doing that is resulting in you burning your way through bank accounts so quickly?

Address the issue with the bank directly - while I hope for the best for you, be aware that banks these days can say no more business if they have too much suspicious activity on your accounts.

How short of a time span are we talking?

Natwests website specifically says you can open as many savers as you like. I would go with a variation of the truth and quote there website. Plead ignorance and hope for the best.

There is nothing wrong with opening multiple accounts. Unless you have been doing something you shouldn't then there may be a marker.

I basically told my BOA rep the truth about my accounts and when I did I found out she had lots of customers doing the same thing LOL. She just advised to be prudent.

thanks for replies guys. defo wont be telling the truth though! Might say am self employed and in order to manage my clients I created few savers? what you think?
