I think one of my best stealth accounts is screwed, Help!
 

I tried to change the bank account on one of my best stealth accounts but I think the account is screwed. After entering my bank account and Routing number, I get the request to verify my device. I am using the user account I have been using for the account and my Verizon Mifi. The Google Voice number I have registered was deactivated by Google for inactivity. I tried to give a different number to text but PayPal told me the number is not registered in the right name. Is the account "toast" or can it be saved?

Call paypal and use the automated system to add the bank account number.

Also, browse around paypal, change pages, etc... over a couple days and build up some cookies.

I can't call them. I don't have minutes nor do I want to pay to make calls on Google Voice.

I have cookies established in fact, I have an item listed. The account has been used for five years.

Well, the call is toll free......Heck you can use a free app as long as you request a PIN using contact us and know what the original number was.

Excuses to not solve problems wont get you very far in business. I suggest attempting to never do that.

I didn't ask for belittling comments that I am making excuses. If you can't say something helpful keep your comments to yourself. I worked in the Resolution services department at PayPal and so I know it doesn't pay to call them! I have been doing this a long time now and have read several people stating if you call PP or eBay it puts you under the radar.

You do not have many options at this point, you can keep trying to add the bank account on different days , but most likely u will need to call in, try the automated system as mentioned and than if that doesn't work you will need to call and speak to a rep

What other option do you have?
How is an automated system putting you under the radar?

How was my suggestions not helpful?

This is very mildly belittling:
I guess you can always just forget about the account as your second option....

Another suggestion is not getting upset because you don't like peoples answers. Especially when it is your only options.

What I didn't like or appreciate was your comment that I was making excuses.

As I mentioned before the Google Voice number was deactivated. I do know PayPal can see what number you are calling from... Yes, even through the automated system, so I do not want to call from my regular number I have on my real account. I will need to try to reactivate the Google number. To be honest, I am not familiar with an automated system to add the bank account but if others say it will work then I need to give it a shot. When I was at PayPal that was not an option.

I apologize but think before you comment about someone making excuses or some other bashing comment.

Well, then don't make them :) because that is what you did.

I was not be criticizing. I was attempting to be constructive. :) I swear on my own two eyes :)

As for the number to call.

You have a cazillion options if you cant get the original number operable. Pinger, nextplus, etc... and number spoofers as well. All free to make a toll free call.

Really an alleged former paypal employee of the resolution center. You should have this figured out or some former coworkers you can call.

The most members on this sub forum do profiting business online and use stealth PayPal accounts in order to a) avoid tax b) stay anonymous. You want to tell me you can't spend max. 15 bucks to call them? Well, then good luck with life.

Why would you want to replace your linked bank account, by the way?

I worked there over 10 years ago. Just because I did work there doesn't mean things are done the same way. I wasn't friends with anyone at work. Don't be so judgemental. You are just jealous I know a little more about what PayPal looks for when limiting accounts. Not one of my accounts have ever been limited because of what I know.

This all started because my Google Voice number on the account is not operable anymore. So, I can't call using any of the other voice numbers or my real number on any of my accounts. I tried getting a new number but there's no numbers within the area code or nearby area codes available.
If you really must know, the bank account number had to be change because of fraudulent purchases on my account....since I have a new number I have to update it.

I am very disappointed in how people criticize others and all I was doing was seeing how to best fix things. As soon as I can get a phone number available to verify my device I will do so... And no, I cannot use a work phone to call from.

Hey, its internet, what do you expect? You've been here for a long time, surely by now you know that people here are pretty up front when it comes to certain aspects of business and there is nothing wrong with it.
You are in a sticky situation and don't expect people to sugarcoat it, its pretty black and white in certain situations.

Also, I believe there have been couple of threads as of late where Yankee(and somebody else) explained how to do this and just because your situation doesn't suit the solution, doesn't mean that its a bad suggestion :)

Chill man, focus on the advice and leave the emotion out of it. If you call it "one of the best stealth accounts" then surely you could invest a bit more money/time into making it a bit stronger? Seems like you are cutting it a bit close.

Thank you too everyone who has given advise. Yes, I admit I may have read more into what people said and thought I was being criticized. I guess reading something can be misinterpreted by one person verses another.

I have possibly come up with a solution and if it proves to be successful I will let every one here know what I find out. But first I want to make sure it works.

Well, my idea didn't work so I decided to try to call the automated system. The really bad news is I some how got my main bank account on both my real PP and the one stealth account. So now I think I have lost the account for good. The rep was able to add the bank account for me but said I have a second PP account which I denied, so he added the account. What stinks is I have $40 in the account and I think I won't be able to get the money out. My first casualty to the naughty PP. :-(
