Transferring money to a relative (Canada)

Hey!

So, I've got this "stealth" account of sorts, an account whose name and birth date aren't mine, so I can't exactly validate it. I opened the account in 2014, not sure when exactly though, for what it counts.

Under normal circumstances, I'd have given up then and there, and made a new account, but the fact of the matter is that there's a hefty 2,600 in there. A relative of mine agreed to help me move the funds into a more secure position, namely, his account, which is verified.

Now, I was just wondering what would be the best method of doing so. What we had planned to do was to send increments of the money over a period of time (like $400 per month or so, sent as a gift), but I had read various threads here, and other places which discourage doing so.

We have the same IP, and same listed address, since we live in the same house, so I was also thinking there'd be the risk of PayPal linking the accounts or something.

So, what should I be doing? Continue sending small amounts of money to him? Give it to him all at once?

Very bad idea.

Don't do any of that or you will never see your money again.

Add a bank and withdraw... The bank doesn't have to be in your name and birthday doesn't matter.

I hope you haven't logged into your paypal with the same ip as your relative is logging into his paypal?

Don't do anything at all until you get some input here.

I don't understand why you didn't take the money out in 2014?

Is the account limited?

paypal links accounts even with different addresses, with same ip.. this is high risk for them with same address and all .. obviously they will block the account.

Welcome to the forums.

Best idea is to withdraw to bank - remember: you LOSE money by transferring also...fees and such. It's also risky for health of accounts.

Most secure way is to get yourself a merchant account that accepts PayPal and invoice yourself the full amount. In PayPal it will be considered a normal purchase so no issues there and once the money is in your merchant account it's basically safe.
